To modify or not?

I am new to your forum and a proud owner of a new PW 2008 GT/CS. I am also a proud owner of a 1966 Fairlane GTA. I know the old muscle cars are worth more if they are original. Some good advice to you GT/CS owners, If you plan on keeping your colector car for years maybe passing it on to your children someday. KEEP ALL THE TAKE OFFS so it can someday be restored to original. I have been reading lots of threads for weeks now and read some very interesting things and seen some beutifull cars. Keep up the good work. THANKS Evansgta;

I say mildly modified is in my book.

EagleStroker 10/17/08 08:43 PM

do like you said, keep all the original and don't do anything you can't undo :D

GRAYPNY 10/17/08 08:47 PM

I say make it your own and don't worry about the collectibility of your car.

Welcome to the boards and don't forget the vote for this month's

Im not saying not to modify just keep the old stuf. One day you may be looking for them. I plan on doing lots of mods to my GT/CS.

StangMahn 10/17/08 09:24 PM

I say modify it to how you want it, my idea of owning a cool car like this is to drive it, not say "this could be worth alot some day" because at the same time, it could not be worth much of anything, have fun with it

I didn't hang on to anything that was replaced on my car. Lower control arms, springs and shocks, mufflers and the list goes on and on. I also have a big hole in my hood and side scoops and a spoiler that were mounted by drilling holes.

Modify to your hearts content, hey you only live once and once is enough if you do it right! :D

+ 1

I agree with you. Completely reversible is the key...

Congratulations on the GT/CS.

CalStang'07 10/19/08 07:37 AM

"Got to agree"

Agree! Everything done to our own CalStang is reversible. And have saved the original OEM parts removed. Bagged, tagged and stored them all for my "Mustang Nut" Son Samuel's future choices, with what to do when he gets Pop's GT/CS ride for his very own. :nice:CalStang

P.S. evansgta. Love that great Avatar GT/CS picture! Where did you get that beauty? Could you post it for us? So we could add it to the large GT/CS picture library collection we are currently building? Thanks "RC"

Im glad you see what im talking about. The first car I restored was before the internet and was imposible to find parts. The last one was't as bad because of the internet but some itemes are not reproduced and canot be found. About the Print I foumd it on MSN Images "2008 Mustang GT/CS" It maybe protected Im not sure.

I'm in it to mod and not look back :jester:

Trying to keep up the Gt/Cs theme but with my own refined "OEM" feel to it

gtcs07 10/28/08 03:36 AM

Mod it and keep the stock parts.

Were did you get the GT/CS badge on your grille. The best Elenore grille I have seen yet.

gtcs07 10/29/08 07:40 PM

I made it from letters I bought on-line. Also used them on my intake cover.

GrnT 10/29/08 07:42 PM

Nice touch.

Javdog 11/3/08 03:01 PM

Mod it to your hearts content. Except for the wheels I have all the stock parts stored in boxes if I ever want to go back to stock I can.

Quick question for you. Did you powder coat or paint the intercooler piping?
