Tony, the problem with Ford Racing performance improvements is the lack of warranty issue. If Ford would put a warranty on FRPP parts (look at the fine print, there is none) and let you put FRPP parts on without affecting the warranty on your car (like Toyota does), I would buy into sticking a FRPP power pack on.

Sure, makes perfect sense to me. I would love to have the same security. For the more adventurous or those fortunate to know service departments that are "mod-friendly", it probably is less an issue.

I believe it is a less costly investment with a quicker return for FRPP to put out more stuff for this Mustang than they previously did. It's a bummer we are seeing higher performance capability being designed into something between the GT and GT500 now.

Time will tell.

A couple of statements: On the GT/CS I have to say I liek the scoop and the stripe is OK, but there isn't enough else to diffrentiate it from the crowd. I'd rather buy a standard GT and mod it both cosmetically and performance wise like I did.

I think Ford had intended to boost it's performance image over the next few years, but with the dimise of SVT and the cancellation of several SVT projects I think we're going to see a lot more tape and scoop packages then performance packages. Just my .02 cents worth.

As for FRPP parts, I initially was reluctant to buy them because of the warranty issues. That is until I spoke with a sales person at the dealership who tipped me off about the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. Basically unless the dealership can prove your aftermarket piece directly caused the failure (whatever it may be) they have to cover it under the stated warranty. As an example I added the FRPP short throw shifter and unless the dealership can prove that modification caused the tranny to fail it's still covered under my warranty.

SVT, in its previous form, is dead. SVT, in a new form, is around. Read " Ford Takes Three-Pronged Approach to Performance" on the Car Connection website.

Sofar the best SE Model for the new Mustangs is GT350H , but you have to rent it, until it goes to Ford auctions then on Ford used car lots with 7 or 15,000 miles on them, you may have pay $30,000.00 for GT350H in 6 months.
