TSB for early GT500's clutch problem
Took my Shelby in to the dealer a few weeks ago and told them about the TSB. They check my vin number. Service guy asked me what symptoms I was experiencing. I told him my concerns. He sits in the driver seat, fires up the car...steps on the clutch pedal, goes through all the gears including reverse and then says "No Problem, Will Take Care Of It For U." Just like that !! I though I was going to have a little more resistance...or maybe take the car out for a test drive or something. I was in total shock...
The biggest problem was getting the parts in from FORD. I quess they were in backorder.
Car should be ready TOMORROW...

Have you gotten your car back yet??
The parts for my car took about four weeks to come in...once the dealer had the parts, it only took them 1 day to get them in the Shelby...
When you get your car back with the new parts, you will love it even more!!

Got it back.
I am amazed at how much lighter the action is. Shifts are much smoother and lighter throws.
Mechanic said the flywheel was warped and the clutch had grooves in it. 8100miles.

Anyone know the TSB# or the VIN number range. I just picked up an 08 with 4500 miles on it and the clutch feels funny. I've been driving a stick for a long long time and told the salesman that this one feels funky.. We'll see.

Or, as we used to say in the Navy, it's not a "problem', it's a "feature".

Pfffttt.... well if you guys ever run into a problem with getting it covered under warranty, I HIGHLY reccomend the McLeod RXT clutch and lightened steel flywheel.
My factory clutch was completely fried by about 18k (started slipping at 16k) IIRC, I've almost got 45k on the car now and not one bit of problem with the RXT setup.
My only complaint is how light the clutch feels compared to the stocker (I'd say its as light or lighter than a comparable 05-09 Mustang GT clutch)
Also make sure they lube the input shaft and hub correctly (its in the manual and Ford has a part number for the grease) otherwise it can lead to problems down the road (throwout bearing seems to be the big issue).
Hey CooBra, off topic but looking at your mods, are you running an OD upper and lower pullies? Yesterday my best at Dinwiddie (Virgina Motorsports Park) was 11.782 @ 123.64 with a craptacular 1.990 60' foot. with my mods. At one time I was thinking about going with an OD lower but its my understanding that the OD upper and lower requires race fuel due to the boost level?
This is all pretty much academic though since I think I'm gonna spring for the TVS/CJ T-body combo FRPP has on the catalog right now (tuner kit) along with some new injectors with the new blower.
