I don't know if you guys read the thread a while back about the chimney fire I had. We were having a cozy night by the fire watching movies with the kids. All of the sudden, my chimney caught fire. I shut the flue and started taking the burning logs out of the house. My wife got the kids out first. Next thing I know I see her taking the cover off the Shelby (I called it the Shelby just for you, Doug). She jumped in it and pulled it out of the garage, out of the driveway and over to the neighbors house. On the way out, she scraped mine on the driveway. I figure that is really minor compared it being burned in a fire. Thankfully, the fire went out right after I closed the flue. By the way, I'll be keeping her.

I took a flat file and smoothed off the edge. This left a very fine hair-like fringe of plastic in the front edge. I took a box cutter and cut the fringe off. You can not tell it was damaged without running your finger over it.

 

yeah it's weird how that plastic kinda gets stringy like that. My chin spoiler did the same thing.

LOL. Of course she's a keeper, got her prioities straight. Get the kids out and then potentially risk her life to save your car! Can't ask for better than that.
Glad everything turned out all right CH. I'll get out a file and boxcutter tonight and see what I can do. As you all said it could be much worse, and if I'm gonna drive it the way it was meant to be things are gonna happen.

Come to think of it, she wasn't too worried about getting me out of there.
