I hear ya. My goal is to scoop up a used 370Z coupe in the future to build as a track machine.

Mine is optioned out so I would feel bad just gutting it.

Everyone I know with those tires gets about 8-10k miles as a daily driver before they need to be changed out and they are $$$. Also, it rains all winter here in SJ... October straight through March. I've driven both and saw no difference in braking response but did notice the RPMs on the brembo cars (despite having the same 3.73 rear end) was higher on the highway at 60mph than the non-brembo 19". What's the deal with that?

As for heated seats, it gets cold here in the winter and my better half will KILL me if I don't get heated seats... LOL. Choices, choices. UGH!!!!
Sounds like you are leaning towards option 1. I think that's a good choice. You can consider option 2 as the performance/track package, Option 1 as everyday functional package. For your average guy who isn't going to track it, Option 1 would be just a really NICE car. Personally I almost got the Brembo package but decided against it for the same reasons as you, I'm not tracking it and I dont want to swap the tires right away. Plus the brakes are extremely responsive as is. I love mine the way I configured it. Now, the 3.73 gears are awesome. I'd definitely do that. You'll get some performance increase from those. Then add whatever luxuries you want.

I would buy all the options i would want or need. You will never be satisfied if you don't. Adding things later will be very expensive, and or second rate.

I agree with David get the options with the car. Best part is you can finance those into your monthly payment.

Just not true at all.
Theres more to the BBP than just the superior brakes.

Nope $6000 off 2011's. August car sales tanked and Mustang sales in particular were way down. They're selling at invoice minus many rebates.

Well I don't know about $6000, but I know I paid $900 below invoice for mine two weeks ago ($100 over invoice then $1000 Ford rebate).

My local dealer sent me their Labor Day Sell-a-thon advertisement and it says nothing about anything more off the 2011 GT's than the $1000 rebate.
They now have $9000 off MSRP on left over 2010 Mustang GT's and everything from $7,000 off to $14,000 off MSRP on all other 2010 models.

I just went to Edmunds.com and they have advertised $6000 cash back on 2010 Mustangs, not 2011. The rebate on 2011's still say $1000.
Would make zero sense for Ford to give big rebates on 2011's when they still have 2010's sitting on lots. They NEED to get rid of the 2010's.
Another completely STUPID reason for Ford to start building the 2012 car (which will be exactly the same, maybe one or two minor differences like color choice or wheel option) in mid January 2011. Some dealers may end up still have a couple 2010's on the lot, then a full array of 2011's and then have 2012's rolling into dealers.
That will require giving away the 2010's and for the dealers AND Ford to take losses on the 2011's, and have a tough time selling the 2012's then with such great deals on the 2011's.
Just flatly retarded.

Go with #2. Brembos are about more than brakes, the handling is amazing and makes every on ramp an adventure.

I would also argue the the electronics package is worth the 40 bucks or so increase that it ultimately costs. If you haven't had a chance to use one, try it out, it's worth it. That of course assumes you have an extra $40 per month available.

Currently there is only one rebate listed for the 2011 Mustang.
