Winter tires?

Hi all

Started looking into winter tires and I'm between these 2 right now

Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice and Cooper Weather Master WSC

Trying to keep the full install price under $700 so unfortunately Blizzaks aren't an option. If any of you have these tires or have any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks

P.S. I need size 255/50 R18

Are you sure about that 255/50/18 size?
Tire Rack lists nothing.

They list 235/50/18 as the 18" size for a Mustang of your vintage.

Not much in that size, but you could do a slightly taller 235/55/18 and that has a bunch of choices.

I'd recommend the General Altimax: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

Or the Firestone Winterforce. Yes, it's listed as an SUV tire, but that just means it's a heavier-duty sidewall.
I've used the Winterforce tires on several vehicles and love them: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

+1 on Firestone Winterforce.
I've had them on my 2005 for 3 seasons now and love them.
I'm in the Chicago area.

Personally I think any real winter/snow tire will be 1000% better than all seasons, so I wouldn't worry too much about which is "best." I assume you will not be driving for maximum performance on these winter tires.

Regarding size -- I would look to go a bit narrower, larger sidewall, and slightly larger overall diameter than the original tires. Also make sure the tires are not too narrow for your wheels. You can look up all of this information on Tire Rack in the "specs" tab (look up the make/model/size of the tires and look in "specs")

My bad guys

I need size 235/50 R18

Not sure how I made that mistake
