Why does my tire pressure monitor for my 12 5.0 look like this?

thats what mine looks like to (2010 v6) Its just a different type of sensor. There is a little hole in it that detects the pressure. I had them removed from my old rims and put into new rims... no problems at all.

Yep, the sensor is bolted to the stem, GM was the first to use this IIRC, much better than the sensor that has the integrated metal stem and is bolted to the wheel.

At this time I dont think so, would love to upgrade to this since it makes wheel changes very easy (just buy new stems and mount the sensor).
VDO is developing a universal sensor for TPMS applications, I hope when this becomes more popular, a rubber stem mounted VDO redi-sensor can be used in place of the strapped units.
