whats so good about the reverse sensing system and security package?
 

Whats so good about this package. Im deciding between 2 cars at different dealers. one has this package and the other has the rearview camera.

Go with the rearview camera!
The "Security" pkg lock nuts for the wheels are heavier than the other lug nuts which causes a little vibration.
Plus I have the reverse sensing system, and I DO like it....but given the option I'd much rather have the backup camera. Given that statement though I do NOT like the spoiler the cam comes in, so I would end up customizing a new location when adding the ROUSH or GT500 spoiler!

Heavier wheel locks causing a little vibration? Even if that was true there is no way you would feel such a minute change in weights (few ounces at most) at the CENTER of the wheel.

Go for camera. Unless you plan on swapping the rear spoiler. I'm not aware of any after market spoilers that retain the camera.

The wheel locks will be in the trunk. I threw mine away.

I have the wheel locks & they are just fine with no issues what so ever!

Lower insurance

No problem with mine either. On vehicles I've used so far with back-up camera's in the mirror, I have trouble using them. I find with progressive lens glasses I have to crank my neck up too far to get a focused view in the mirror. If I ever get a rear view camera package I'll try to make sure it's in a nav screen only.

Nice I also don't like the spoiler and the Camara location I am thinking about doing the same did your friend record how he did it if so can he post it

The factory security system has a built in motion detector. Nice feature and hard to duplicate in an aftermarket, at least with one that works well.

ckaven, no wheel vibration from the lock nuts on our car. The security package is just what it says. The alarm upgrade is the main part for me. It monitors the doors, hood, trunk, movement inside the car, and change in vehicle inclination (towing, etc.). It also includes standard lugs if you want to remove the locking nuts.The camera in the mirror, I can take it or leave it. In bright sunshine it's difficult to see. However, it is handy to guide you into the parking space lines, and see things close to the bumper that you otherwise can't see through the rear view mirror. Myself, I like the spoiler that comes w/ the camera.

I have the mirror cam and I use it a lot more than I thought I would.

The security package saves me $13 a month with State Farm. That's reason enough to get it. The wheel locks are crap, and the key will shear off if you just look at it wrong. Just throw them away.

I have the Security/Rear sensor package and for the price of admission it gives me some peace of mind as to break in. It supposed to have a tilt/towaway sensor, and all the doors, hood, trunk are alarmed. The horn and light would flash if triggered.

The rear sensors already saved my rear bumper and tail pipes when I didn't notice how high a parking curb was. I could only imagine what other obstacles it could save your rear end from over the years. I park alllll the way on the empty end of parking lots any way, and so far not dings or nicks etc. Three weeks now and I love my GT.

You are so right. Happened to me on one of the Wifey's car. For that reason the ones on the Stang will be coming off at the first oil change.

This works, I was changing the struts and since I stopped to eat, the system armed. Made a hell of a racket when I dropped the jack.
