Whats a fair price for a 2014 5.0?
 

A close friend of mine currently owns a 2007 GT and absolutely loves his pony. My buddy is a auto mechanic and while at work today a customer came in with his 2013 mustang. I'm not sure what the customer needed on their stang however at the request of the owner my buddy took the mustang out for a quick drive.

Instantly my buddy is hooked on all the power this 420 HP monster has too offer. So you guessed it, my buddy is now in the market for a 5.0. His wife gave him the green light so he will be selling his 2007 GT and looking for a 5.0. My buddy lives on the mid shore of Maryland and a local Ford dealership is selling a new 2014 base model, 6 speed ,Deep Impact Blue for 24k.

I'm assuming that 24k price is what ever rebates Ford is currently offering for 2014 models, which I have no clue on what those rebates are. To me, that 24k seems like an awesome freaking deal for a 5.0. My buddy is NOT looking for leather, trac pac, Brembo brakes, back up camera, power seats, etc. He is looking for some serious power at an affordable price.

Is 24k a good deal for a base, manual 5.0? Should he pull the trigger at that 24k price or do you guys or girls think there is room to negotiate? Thanks for your input.

That is a great deal! We got ours for $26.5k ($34k sticker, $29.5k invoice, and $3k in rebates). Base model with the electronics (SYNC/Power Driver Seat/Dimming Mirror) 6 speed manual.

I just paid $29,900 for my 2014 after rebates, track pack, with recaro seats. But I had to order it to get the options and color I wanted!
You can always get a better deal if it is already on the lot!

That sounds like a steal. Almost too good to be true. The base GT is $31,000. He should jump all over that deal IMO.

That's what I thought to bro when he told me the price. Total steal! My buddy said he is going after work this Monday.

24k for a new GT??? That would be a good deal for a low mile used 14.

Hey bud, the number if I can be honest, can be too good to be true. Some places (I say some), show all possible rebates when showing a price of a car. Rebates that not everyone can get. Remember, rebates are based on residency (ZIP code). There is $3,000 in rebates in most regions right now (in lieu of financing rates) and the markup on a base 300A GT from MSRP ($31,695) to invoice ($29,819.52) is only $1,875.48. Less $3,000 rebates, the price drops to $26,819.52. There is a $1,000 Conquest rebate for having a competitive lease in the household, but even that only takes it down another grand. With a coupon (which not everyone gets), still won't crack $25K.

If they truely are selling it at $24K, the dealer is losing money, but believe me, they will make it up somewhere. Dealerships are not in business to lose money. No business is. They will try to recoup the money from the loss on the sale, on F&I products (extended warranties, service plans, insurance, rate, etc). Moral of my post. The price is great, just be careful. That's all I'm saying. :nice:

The dealer may be going into his 3% holdback to sell it at that price. The dealer that I bought my car from recently had two 14 base automatic trans GT's for around $26,600. Take off the over $1,000 price for the automatic and you are in the $25,000+ range. There may be some type of military or student discount included in that $24,000+ price.

I was shopping for them 2 months ago and that was the going price for a bone stock Base GT after every rebate. Personally I wanted Sync and more to the point a premium. IF it is one of the bases with no options it isn't any kind of a special deal.

I'm looking at a Premium GT Auto Brembo for 33 K. Not a bad deal in my opinion.

Maryland and Virginia dealers that advertise low, low prices on new Mustangs typically subtract the freight. It will be added back in along with a $200 doc fee ($500 in VA.) They still are selling it well below invoice, but count on it be $1000 higher than advertised.
