I think the 2010 GTs will not be as hard of a sell as one might think when the 2011s hit the show rooms. There will be financing and cash offers on 2010s for essentially the same car except engine and transmission. If someone is looking for 1/4 mile time slips then the extra money will be a no brainer but for those of us out there who want good power and the V8 rumble the extra cost for a 2011 may not be worth it. 90% of the people will never know the difference other than the owner and other mustang/car fans.

Watertown ford worked with me on my order for a 2010 last june, they were pretty good to work with only a couple hundred over invoice. just make sure you read the contract they might try to sneak in "all incentives go to dealer" not that much will be expected on the 2011.

Yes, they seem to be in denial around here too . . . but they will have to wake up when the 2011's are actually sitting in their showrooms. (or maybe they'll hide them out back until the 2010's are gone? ;-) )

So, I think the bottom line is, we will have to wait a while longer until the dealers realize they will need to drop the prices a lot more to move the 2010's, and/or Ford improves the rebates / incentives.

Then again, I could be wrong, maybe they can move them at the prices they are asking now, I suppose not everybody is up on what's coming in the 2011 models, they say "there's a sucker born every minute"
I got 0% and $3K off sticker on the GT I just bought .... I'm pretty sure any dealer will give $3K + 0% or $5500 to $6K off sticker + standard financing. Bigger rebates will come for sure .... I noticed NorthEast has $1K rebate + 0% right now.

I have nine (9) brand new 2010 Mustang GT Premium Coupes left for sale. With our discount and using the Ford rebates (in lieu of the 0%) all of them are at least $6K below MSRP after our discount and rebates are deducted. Click here to see them at our website. Fly to Seattle and drive one home.

Did they try and add that to your contract? They're nearby me and I planned on going to them to order a 2011 and purchase it using the X-plan.

yea just watch for it and dont agree to it, i had never seen a dealer do that before, I guess its their way of attempting an ADM on orders. I ordered my car and there were no incentives when i put the order in by the time it came in there was 1k obv if they know you are willing to order it without any current incentives the incentives are not driving your desire to buy the car. But they were willing to give me a good trade value and were good about delivery keeping me updated on order status. I would recommend them, just mention to take a few notes before you go in to negotiate and to review the contract in detail before you sign it.

A dealer here in CT was and still is looking to get 29500 for a used 2010 GT with 4500miles on it. It is a vert but dealers are clueless. I would consider adding the the stable if they would let it go for around 24,000 but they wouldnt budge, It might be that I am young and rolled up in my sweet ford taurus and they assumed I dont have money. I guess what they don't know just hurts them.

Joe (Stack?) at Watertown Ford seems like a good guy, though I haven't actually bought anything from them yet . . . seems like a straight shooter, but I'm sure you still need to watch out for "gotchas" like $500 "paperwork fee" that never gets mentioned when discussing the price

Thanks for the heads-up on "all incentives to dealer" since I might order one on X-Plan also, and might intentionally time it for delivery in mid-December when there is a good chance for incentives. The way I understand it, when you order a car you agree to the price with no incentives, but then you should get any incentives in effect at the time of delivery.

If you are buying a car off the lot, that is a different story -- if they already netted-out the incentives in the price, then it is expected that they will say "all incentives to dealer" -- I've seen that before and it didn't surprise me, because I knew they had already figured it into the price . . .

from past experience I've learned that you need to see the complete final deal all written up down to the penny before you agree to it, and make sure you actually read the fine print (fooled me twice, shame on me)

2010 Current Price on Premium GT

It sounds like you've made up your mind,,, but,,,

I just spent four hours beating a Charlotte area 'stealer to death over a 2010 Grabber Blue GT with the Black/cashmere seats , MSRP 33,630,, the lowest he would go was $26,649 and he did say I could try and finance it with Bank of America at 2.94% for 60months,, I did not know BoA offered that low of an interest rate, but looking at their website, they do.

I didn't bite on that price since that particular car had a born on date of 4/19/09, and I'm sure as soon as the 11's are out I can get it for 24,649, or a deluxe coupe for under 22,

Anyways,, unless you just gotta' have it, I'd wait a few weeks, I'm sure the prices on these things will drop dramatically, and there is no way I'm getting caught on the wrong side of another 2-grand off..

Later..

-if your thinking about getting a 2010...why not try and find a used one on local cl...?

-i personally em hoping ford offers family pricing again this late july/aug on new 2011's

-i would wait and least test drive both a 2010 and 2011 mustang and see how they compare

-maybe not as much a issue for V6,but im thinking long term GT...with gas savings and down the road resale value,im wondering if long term the 2011 doesn't turn out to be better buy?

Haha, check the bargainnews now. There's a premium GT vert at Litchfield Ford with 10K miles for $29,880.

What I have seen is 05s are going for around $16ish with 50K miles.
06-07s seem to be in the 18-19k arena, 08s and 09s are over 20. The few Bullitts that I've seen, used are around the $25k mark.

I don't know if it's just CT or what? I tried dealing with a local dealer on an 07 with 10k miles and they wouldn't budge below $18k. I just walked out. What aggravates me the most is that I missed a chance at a left over Torch Red, Premium Pkg. GT for $21k when Ford had some great rebates and I am seriously kicking myself in the a** for not pulling the trigger!

That bothers me a bit about them but at least I know to watch out. I've hated the car buying process which is why I bought Ford stock so I would qualify for an x-plan pin. At least through this site and Jeff on here I know what I should be paying including the mandatory fees.

Worst car buying experience was at Muzzi Chevrolet in Needham when I looked at a Camaro. I got ticked when the sales guy brought his manager over and both sat right next to me at this little table talking from both sides. That move pretty much sealed my desire to not buying anything from them... Or Muzzi Ford across the parking lot.

yea i bought my first car from muzi ordered an 07 fusion right out of college, they weren't too bad either, i went to them first on the stang but they wouldn't go where i wanted for the trade so i said byeeeeee. in the boston area they are not really saturated with dealers they pretty much cover decent sized geographic and population areas so they will be a bit tougher and try to get every little bit out of you, like a prep fee, even tho that is included in destination and delivery (that's a separate story salesperson wrote it down then immediately crossed it out and called it out as a favor to me to help get the deal done, i just laughed at the guy and told him i already knew it was included). literally write down on a piece of paper all the components of a deal that you want, and walk in there and check off as you go through the final contract. feel free to eat up alot of their time as you go through the details. i made a spreadsheet that had base price and options (with option code) and msrp and invoice prices for each and went into a bunch of dealers (took a test drive each time!) and took notes on everything they were offering, then picked the best deal. feel free to grab their calculator from across the desk and re do their math. if they are trying to cheat you they will be just as nervous as you are and if not then they will be happy to let you recheck their work. it makes the car buying process easier becuase you know you did everything right and the sense of pride that comes with it.

Pulled the trigger on a 2010 GT. Wanted the V8, and the 4.6 is more than enough power for me. Base GT, Per. White with 3.73 rear. The exact car I wanted. Price:24200. Had to walk out on the deal once to get them there.

Just me: I was going to wait for a 2011 V6, but as this is the only muscle car I'll own (likely), I needed a V8. Getting a 2011 5.0 liter even with Jeff's help would likely cost another 5k.

Pictures to follow.

That's exactly what I want except in Grabber Blue.

Yeah, you have to be willing to walk away if you don't get the deal, you got a good price.

I've never had a car with "more than enough power" though!

Great thing about the 4.6 3V is that there are lots of power upgrade options out there.

if you were thinking about a 2011 V6, you will never regret getting the 2010 V8 unless gas spikes through the roof. everytime you start it you will remember why you made the choice you did. for me being able to have the updated interior and styling a year early was worth giving up 90 or so hp for a 2011 V8. im never taking it to a drag strip so 315 (maybe more on 93 when the weather gets warm) is plenty for bombin around town. plus you dont want to go so fast that when the engine roars as you pull away from a stop light the bystanders cant see your face, right?

Just yesterday I ordered a 2011 GT Premium 5.0 vert for over $3000 under sticker (got it at invoice). It would have had to be a LOT more discount than that to have tempted me to get a 2010.

I was thinking the same thing. The 4.6 has quite a few options. The "more than enough power" comes from driving a a couple of Miatas for over a decade. "Less than enough power" sums it up, although fun as hell.

I gotta think that Insurance Companies are gonna realize the 2011 GT has 412HP .. and will price Insurance policies closer to GT500 rates instead of Current GT rates ...

I went from a 2006 V6 to a 2010 GT ... Insurance for the GT went up $340 / Year. I also price how much a 2008 GT500 would have affected my Insurance ... My rate for a GT500 went up $1,000 per year .... ouch ...

Local dealer is advertising GT Premiums for $8500 off msrp. Just FYI. And it's in the newspaper, which hardly any people read anymore...
