What would you pay for this car today?
2010 GT premium mustang, 5 speed manual, black, rear axel package, and 19 inch bright machined wheels. Everything else is standard. What would you offer? Dealer wants $30,300, about $3000 off MSRP already. That isn't enough for me to go for a 2010 instead of a 2011. So again, what would you offer?
for me if it isnt 6k plus off msrp i wouldnt even think about it
and i would try like heck to get around at least 6500 off. you dont need the car but they NEED to sell it for when the 2011s come out. they will be hard pressed.

I don't need a new car at all. I just REALLY want a mustang so I certainly can wait until the 2011's come out, but I'm fine with getting a 2010 GT for a really low price.
So I should try and smash them down to about $26,500 is what your are saying? Id like to see that because black isn't my first choice, or second for color, and I really don't care for the machined wheels. I like the 19 inch wheels that are similar looking to the standard 18 inch ones that come with the car. Maybe i'll have a chance to chop them down, they've been sitting on the car since summer.

and on another note. i was looking at a gt premium vert a few weeks back. it had the 19 wheels and heated seats and security package. i offered 8K off sticker hopping to get around 6500 off. they said it was no way possible for them to take off more than 4K. i politely said no thanks, gave them my number to call when they are ready to sell it in a few months and cant sell it cause its a 2010. its still there.
where are you located. i know of places in texas having advertised 5-6K off all stangs gts. including v6, gt etc and you can get it lower than that

I'm in PA, if I have to i'll just wait for a 2011, just figuring I'll save a little money. If they don't meet my price I want I'm going to do the same thing as you, leave my phone number. Like I said that 2010 has been there since summer.
You should talk with Jeff (05fordgt on here) in Chalfont, PA. He may be able to work something out with ya...
Yeah, he said I get the car for $300 over invoice. It's basically a done deal I am going to buy from him if I can't find some attractive prices on 2010's. I really lucked out, I am only about 50 minutes from him.
Maybe because the 2011 havn't been sold yet, so people that arn't obsessed like us find it as a great deal. Little do they know...
I'm going through the same thinking . . . my "buy price" for a 2010 GT like that is about $26-27K . . . that is mainly based on the pricing of the 2011's; I can't see paying more for a 2010 GT than a 2011 V6 Premium MCA edition
If your dealers are anything like mine (of course excluding Jeff), they're denying all knowledge of the 2011, and still not dealing on the 2010 GTs. Jeff has been more than helpful since day freaking one (when I messaged him as a new member), and these turdburglars... unprofessional and incompetent just two of the words I'll use to describe them.
So, at $30,300 it is $3,000 off sticker now?
I would say that they would maybe take $27,000 for it, probably no way they would go $25K though.
Like the other guy said, a couple of dealers in Houston are doing around $5-$6K off sticker on premiums, come down here and buy one.

You could also widen your search to another part of the country to see if the extra savings would offset the cost to travel and bring a car back to your home state.
Good luck!
It's a very nice car. I think it looks good in black, it's just not my first choice. I am settling. For 1000 dollars more I could get an '11 in the color I want, so their price has got to come down. I'll see what they say.

Yeah, now it is currently 3k off MSRP. If they say no to 25k maybe I'll offer them 27k out the door, it sounds better for them, and its a better deal for me LOL.

If you use the current Ford rebates and not use the 0% financing .. any dealer should be able to do $6K off sticker on a GT ... I assume the $3K they are offering off of sticker also includes 0% financing.
Not to hijack the thread, but I agree with everyone's sentiment. If you can get a 2010 for the "right" price, I'd jump on the deal as well. I heard that 2011s are going to be advertised this coming Monday 3/22???
Anyone know of any good dealerships to work with (price wise) in the New England area?

So, I think the bottom line is, we will have to wait a while longer until the dealers realize they will need to drop the prices a lot more to move the 2010's, and/or Ford improves the rebates / incentives.
Then again, I could be wrong, maybe they can move them at the prices they are asking now, I suppose not everybody is up on what's coming in the 2011 models, they say "there's a sucker born every minute"
