What would you do?

So I pretty much have my mind made up that i'm going to pull the trigger on a new GT soon. The problem is I can't decide which route to go:

Route A: There is a model that has been built and is due to be delivered to a local dealer that has all the options I've been wanting plus a few extra that I wouldn't mind having but aren't required.

Route B: Special order exactly what I want because now i'm thinking about glass top and spoiler delete. Route A doesn't have neither. This would require waiting 4-8 weeks.

The two configurations are roughly the same price wise so that doesn't matter.

If I could have found a car "that close", I would have bought it. I'm not one to wait. Go with Route A.

Does Route B include your mentioned Glass Roof? Just trying to gauge which is the better value.

Route A has backup cam...no glass roof
Route B has glass roof and no backup cam. Well B could have anything I wanted I guess. But i'm starting to like the clean look of the spoiler delete.

With all these horror stories of people waiting 3-4 months for delivery, I am tempted to just go Route A.

Yeah, that's the crap shoot that would move me to route A even though I wanted EXACTLY what I got. If someone told me it would take 3 months or more, I'd just wait for something close/good enough and snag it.

Your spending $30,000 + or - and are going to live with the car for 3 years or longer. Get EXACTLY what you want even if you have to wait. If not you'll always second guess yourself. You said yourself the cars are basically the same price but one is your dream car and one is someone elses. I think route B is a no brainer. In the scheme of things who cares if it takes a few months.

You should order exactly what you want. The super long waits are over. Just be sure you see enough cars to know what you want. Initially we thought we wanted either spoiler delete or the small spoiler (no camera). Later we came to appreciate the looks of the larger spoiler that comes with the backup camera. We ordered the camera & larger spoiler, and love both.

So, take a little time for research & decisions, then order your dream car.

Option B

Order it the way you want. If you pick one up without a glass roof and that's what you want then you will always regret it. Plus you are going to have it for at least a few years so waiting a couple of months won't be so long in teh cheme of things

B. 4-8 weeks is chump change compared to getting exactly what you want.

Mine took 10 weeks which puts me somewhere in the middle of waiting. When people ask why I got this or why I didn't get that, I have an answer, I got exactly what I wanted. I'm a kid again! ( At least on the inside. )

If your willing to travel - buy stock

I used the Ford Dealer locator to build a list of VIN's around mine while I was waiting. By changing the ZIP code I could see who had what in stock. The sticker was usually a click away to see the content. But I did not find one that had the exact specs as mine.

I ordered exactly what I wanted and I'm at 17 weeks and counting. Prioritize your options and stick on what's high on your list.

For the amount of money we are all paying to buy car now days I say, get EXACTLY what you want even if you have to wait little longer.
