What all this hopping around?
Ok, I think I might have seen on other post here about the rear end hopping, but geesh! This
is not good at all. It reminds me more of my 03 Cobra than it does of my 03 Mach 1. Why is it sooo bad? I tried playing with the air pressure a little. Factory had it set at 38..I dropped it to
33 cold. Still bounces like a bunny on hard 1-2 shifts. Do I really need lowers already? I miss the sold plant my Mach had.
Ok...sorry to vent, I"m just not pleased with the bounching. I know it will break something if it's not dealt with ASAP.
On a good note...my Mach/03 Cobra are dated in ever other aspect.

I'm having the same issues. Definitely going to do LCA's, just can't find a decent walkthrough for solid rear axle cars.
I can see the strut and spring mount to brackets welded directly to the axle, so I'm hoping this can be done without a spring compressor and the whole bit.

You can view TacoBill's install on the Steeda LCA. Not sure if it's the same, but I'm sure it's close...

Just so I'm clear (because he isn't in the guide), he has the car on jackstands by the body not the axle, he then places a jack under the axle so he can move it up and down to install the new LCA?

Is it just the bushings they are using? Too soft? or bad pinion angle from the factor? If I can just press in some urethane bushings and call it a day, that would be a whole lot cheaper.
I assume the bounching is caused by bushings they use to make the car ride so "nice"?

These are really easy to do--just make sure you've got the right tools.

Hmmm, strange I have nt had this at all. Especially not on the 1st to 2nd shift. The shift hits way to freaking hard though. I have not been able to get it smooth like every other gear.

I have had some wheel hop after my Brenspeed tune and when it is raining. Even then I have to absolutely floor it. It is easy to regulate with your left foot. Ease off a bit at first and then floor it. It will still pull harder than most.

Wow this is the first I have heard of wheel hop in the 2011. I have never experienced it in mine. Can you all explain how you encountered wheel hop? Just curious.
My brothers SRT8 Challenger you have to wear a mouth guard it has such bad wheel hop

My car is all stock....just 300 miles on it even. It will hope if the pavement is cool, like in the evenings. It is usually at the top of 1st at around 6,000rpm to redline. The other day it did it on warm pavement on a vary hard 1-2 shift. It laid about 20ft of rubber and started bouncing as it caugh traction.
I know the 03 Cobra's bounced less with lowering/stiffer springs. What I am worried about
is my first trip to the track. I don't need to be bouncing in the water box or breaking an axle or u-joint as I go through the gears.
Time to look for some LCA's I guess.
Thanks,
Chris

Mine is stock ride height. The 19 inch wheels and 3.73 gear dont help any either. Im going to mount my MT drag radials and play with pressure. Along with some real seat time I should be able to control it somewhat.

UMI PERFORMANCE sells an anti wheel hop kit. Tubular lower controls arms and relocation brackets. $199. It should take about an hour to install them.
Mine's coming in today- I'll let you guys know how it goes.

The parts look great- came with detailed instructions and a little silicone for the "sidewalls" of the bushings. Going to install them after lunch then hit the track. I'll let you guys know how it works out.
