Interesting design that looks good and broadens the rear end, but it appears like a Mustang got rear ended by a Firebird

I like how it brings back the look of my 95 Mustang, just something about it though. I'll need to view it more.

I guess the sequential signal will have you turning UP or DOWN.

The 94/95 look taillights weren't well received, so Ford went back to the horizontal 3-segment taillights in 96 and hasn't looked back. Even the unloved Mustang II's had the 3-segment horizontals. It's in Mustang's DNA and is a classic design cue.

I had a '94 and they weren't well received by me either. My least favorite part of the car for sure.

It broadens out the rear end but idk bout the overall design. Maybe somethin like a mix of the guigario concept and the 05-09 lights would look good IMO

You could still have LED segments in them that light up from side to side sequentially. I greatly prefer the factory taillights as they are, though.

I guess I'll be the contrarian...Yes, I actually like it. I also had a '94 and always thought the hoizontal lights tied in better with the design than when they retrofitted the vertical tail lights in '96. I just don't think we should be so tied to the same design elements year after year. The Fox bodied Mustangs didn't have any of the supposedly "must have" elements like the 3-segment vertical taillights, the "hockey stick" side crease (which should have disappeared in 2010 in my opinion), etc., etc., and Ford dodn't have any problem selling those and they remained popular over their very long life cycle. I'm all for retaining a few retro cues, but the list of these "a REAL Mustang must haves" seems to get longer and longer. I hope the redesign (if it happens) starts with a clean sheet.

That's not necessarily a bad thing (IMO of course). Looking at the new front end of the 2012 Focus, I wouldn't be surprised if Ford included visual cues from say, a DB9, for the next big redesign. The first time I saw the new Focus, I actually said to myself "wow, it looks kinda like an Aston Martin... maybe I should get an ST?"

PLEASE don't put Aston Martin and Ford Focus in the same sentance that upsets me LOL!! Just would die to have an Aston ever since I was very young, and is still my long term game plan .

I don't want to be tied down to always having 3 vertical taillights from now until eternity for the Mustang.
