Hello I have a 2014 mustang gt auto an today I'm pulling the trigger on a super charger an just having trouble deciding between a vortech and an eddlebrock stage 2 the performance place wants me to do the eddlebrock because vortech is only made for manual ?

Maybe this will help? You are correct, the complete systems are available for manual transmission vehicles only. I take it you have an Automatic?

Nice write up...made a good argument for the Centrifugal Supercharging.. Something I want to do to my 2011. Years back I had a Pontiac GTP with a factory Supercharged 3.8 Really liked the feel of the motor.


If I can ask: Why are Superchargers all priced in the 6k neighborhood?

I have a '13 GT Auto that I will be adding a supercharger to late summer (happy 50th birthday from the wife). I planned on the i-1 Procharger http://www.steeda.com/mustang-gt-pro...14-1fr205-sci/


Does this come with a canned tune to get me rolling? What else do I need to buy that is not included?


I do plan on going to a stronger, 1-piece drive shaft. I'm leaning towards the carbon fiber one.

probably because they are not mass produced.

Ah, the old centri vs roots argument. I'm sure you've done your research and there's arguments for and against each. My suggestion is to research on your own A LOT. I did the same and decided that roots was the one for me, because I wanted low to medium boost, power earlier in the rpm band, and easier install.

If you're looking for info on Edelbrock, look up a fellow member on here, I think his username is TommyV. He has the Edelbrock Eforce installed on his beauty.

Maybe that's it.


A Supercharger along with suspension mods and possibly brakes, new tires and wheels is on my wish list. At the top of the wish list is wishing the mods we're not so expensive.


I got a base model with the intent to upgrade later...

One thing that helped me decide to go the PD route was that centrifugal's don't like cold climates so I avoided them. Glad I did because I love the instant torque from my VMP and I think PD superchargers run better on autos compared to centrifugal's unless you want to add a converter.

I came close on several occassions on buying a centri. then i found a roush full kit (minus injectors) with 85mm, 82mm, 79mm and jlt intake and jlt installed oil can for a little over 4K used. If price is a factor for you, lurk on this fourms marketplace and another forum that starts with SV(). Those guys are always selling superchargers and turbo's.

Like others have said, VMP or Roush. I went with the Roush kit, Phase 1. So easy to install and **** does it really make the car fun!

All of the supercharger kits on the market are great choices. My opinion is that a stalled automatic works incredibly well with a centrifugal blower. Not stalled yet, gillygally? You should certainly get a big stall converter. With a stock torque converter, a PD blower may yield better results.

Yep, I do. I love it, but a couple of requirements that I needed, was it be CARB smog legal, and offer a powertrain warranty. If those weren't an issue, I would have went with VMP.

My requirements were also warranty, but also no grinding or cutting of cover/plate.

you missed out on a good time, the grinding was the best part!

Haha precisely! See Russ??? That's why I picked the Maggie, at that time. Now, knowing what I do now, if I were to do it all again, I probably would have gone with a VMP kit. Overall installation confidence has skyrocketed since I did the Maggie install myself ;). It's easy!
