Stripe color
I'm not gonna be happy with my vinyl stripes... so I'm just going to plan on having them painted. I saw the pic of the black with red stripes in another post the other day that just looked awesome, and I saw a black Camaro yesterday with red that was just beautiful (Camaro thing considered ). I like the black stripes on the Performance White, but wonder if there's a good reason why I shoudn't work some red in there? Maybe a wide black in the middle with skinny black/red/black on either side. Is it a sacrilege to go multi-color?

So your car is white, or black? If it's white, I think blue stripes look the best. Black stripes would be boring (IMO) and I think red would look odd. Dark blue or even grabber blue would look really nice.

With the "extreme" GT500 styling I think it can pull off just about any color stripe. I agree black with red stripes looks badass. However, I don't think white with red would look good on a regular V6/GT. If you like it, go for it

I like the black because I think it helps tie the black plastic in... but a little red might be dandy. It's been mentioned that the skinny stripes are too far from the wide, and I tend to agree. So I'm thinking maybe just the skinnies a little closer, with red in between the black. Or two wide black like the red and blue in the pics, with red in the middle. I much prefer the look of the two wider stripes anyway...

I'm not a fan of grabber blue usually but that looks great on the Shelby. I'd agree, kona and then grabber are the two best looking colors on a white car.

On a black car, I'd go with red without a doubt. I was going to go with that myself, but decided I didn't want the upkeep of having a black car. If you get the stripes painted on, make sure they taper and space them correctly. Also have them continue the stripes under the rear license plate.
All GT500 stripes are vinyl.
The stripes taper from 9.25" front to 10.75" rear.
The gap is 1.25".

I think red stripes on white looks amazing - if I had a white car, that's the way I'd go. Not a huge fan of black on white. If you go with blue, go with a darker blue, like vista or kona. I also think silver stripes on white looks pretty **** cool (Shelby GT). But, it the end, it's totally your choice. Kudos for going with paint. Vinyl is waaaay to much of a PITA.
