The sound alone would be worth the price...
Cog belt driven ProCharger with one of there big gun centri's.
Imagine what it sounds like at full tilt! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCrQSq_RoMQ |
Man, they REALLY need to work on the plumbing though. That air filter couldn't be in a hotter place!

Maybe we're looking at different pictures? The blown car in the video had an open cone air filter back by the firewall near the master cylinder. A stock 5.0 and any CAI I have seen has the filter near the back of the left front headlight.
5.0 with CAI: http://www.phastekperformance.com/v/...AIR-KIT-2T.jpg blown car: http://www.motorator.com/uploads/blo...rger_Kit_2.jpg Which is going to have cooler air coming in to the air filter...the car with the filter up front with the heat baffle or the car with the naked filter right over the left side exhaust manifold collector? Just my observation...ned. |
yup, one reason i like the vortech system as opposed to the procharger

A good friend of mine has a Grabber Orange 07, GT that had a cam and Procharger on it and it sounded wicked. It was cool to go through town and hear it echo of the buildings. It sounded like a jet.

Procharger has been producing this setup (with air filter against the firewall) since 2005. Currently, besides Kenny Bell, procarger is producing the best HP numbers and in my opinion looks the best, because you dont have to cut up the engine cover and cram everything into the front between the radiator.
Not too sure but dont I think the Vortech doesnt have a dedicated belt to the crank. |
ya i noticed how they cut the engine cover but the black kit makes up for that cuz it kinda fills the place better than the satin

I was referring to all procharger 5.0 kits using the same air inlet.

5.0 SF did a special 2011 supercharger issue with KB. It produced the most power, but they said that it was the heaviest. I was wondering how heavy it actually is (50lbs maybe).

The MP90 system from my '04 V6 weighed 70 pounds and it didn't have an intercooler. |
I thought the rods were supposed to be the weak link in these 5.0s. Is anyone who is bolting on these insane blower kits doing anything to strengthen the bottom end of these engines? Or are they holding up just fine and blowing away the weak rod myth?
|
My shop installed a procharger 7psi kit on a GT for Sema and it made 553rwhp.
But after getting my 1st speeding ticket on the freeway, the last thing I need is more power. |

I was jokingly referring to the additional amount of self-control that would be needed to reign in a car with 600Hp. Example, I have to forcefully decide to break the law in my foxbody but i can catch myself doing 10 plus on the freeway thinking I'm just coasting along.
