I live in a town of about 20,000 and there are about 12 2011-2012 v6's and no 5.0's.. It is hard to beat 300hp with that kinda fuel mileage but still none.. Haha

Yea, it happens. Funny enough there are some people with GTs getting 26-28 mpg and thats with about 100 more hp.... not too bad at all either way.

I'm pretty sure you can get those numbers on a basic GT with 3.31 gears with stock 18" wheel/tires and staying below 65 MPH, and of course never shifting above 3000 RPM. However driving 400+ HP car like that is such I waste and no fun at all. I know if I would have gotten a GT my average MPG will be in the 17-18 range, easily

Oh I'm sure those numbers are much higher than the average, but it was people that commute to work so decent amount of freeway time. I think even at 65 with 3.55 gears you are still decently below 2k RPM. Either way I am planning for around 20 when I take my cross country trip and hoping to actually get on the higher side of 25.

I can chime in on that since I recently drove my 11 brembo package gt with 3:73 gear to and from Florida from NJ. I noticed at around 70mph I was at 24.3 and 80-90 it was between 21.2-23.4.

I believe Mustang V6 models have been outselling the V8 models about 3 to 1 on average through the years. This site has the marketing information from Ford when the 2005 S197 was being announced where the expectation was 68% V6 and 32% V8.

And like you said, the 2011+ V6 is the best it's ever been.

I've seen 2 5.0's and 4 3.7's (2011+) in my town.
