recaro seats and long trips
anyone take a long trip with a mustang equipped with recaro seats yet? i like to know your opinion if they are as comfortable as the stock mustang seats with the lumbar support.

I took a long trip in my new focus with recaros and it left me alittle sore
|
I am 6ft 280lbs. Actually too big for the Recaro seat bottoms.
|
I have a large frame and the Recaros are very comfortable. If you need lumbar support with these seats, get a small lumbar pad if needed. They really add to the sports car feeling and hold you in corners, well worth the investment and I think will be highly sought after on resale value when the time comes. Can't go wrong with either cloth or leather.
I took this vid last year when checking out 2 Track Pack GTs and made the offer on my '13 Boss. All in all a very good day. :) |
Nice video Rich thank you for posting it

Longest trip so far for me is a 12 hour ride from Boston to Detroit last summer for the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Back felt great after driving straight thru each way, no complaints at all. |
I've taken several 6 hour trips in mine, they are way more comfortable than regular seats.

I like the seats, the only fault I found with them (Why I did not get them) is because if you have a person in the back seat they have a harder time getting in and out and all they see is seat back. Since my car is a DD.. I have my 8 year old ride back there when on a family ride. If I was single, younger etc.. I would have purchased them, but I also would have got the GT to put under them :)

Yeah if you need to use the back seats regularly you probably shouldn't go for the Recaros. Getting people in/out will become an ordeal. |
I bought my car in Texas and drove it home to central Florida. 1150 miles or so. Recaro seats were perfect. No tossing or turning. And some seats really bother me. My mom's Lexus SC400 seats have me wanting to trade for a milk crate within 50 miles.

thanks for the replies. i've been looking at a new base 13 with the recaro seat option, but i hate to give up my mint 10, 22k, 5m, c&l, brenspeed tuned, 3:73, 19", nav, backup cam, comfort, 401, suspension mods, hurst, flows, x pipe, etc, for the above base with sync, recaro, 6m, 3:73, and brembo. i've been trying to make up my mind for over a month with no luck.

|
man, i've made that drive a few times straight through. unfortunately not with recaros but base gt seats instead. they do fine but there's not a day i don't dream of splurging on recaros. they weren't an option when i got mine :bad:

Best seats I've ever been in. The support is fantastic. I'm SO glad I ordered them.

Finally picked her up eh? :poke:

Recaros are fantastic - very comfortable. I am very pleased with them on long trips or short trips. I never use the backseat for anything though...
I am 6'-1", 220 pounds and I thought they might not fit me well but they do. Just get them! |
I'm defiantly getting recaros on my next mustang
