Question about sound tube delete...
So I've read in a few "got my new car" threads recommending the sound tube delete. I've searched around, and can't really find the answer to this question: Why?
I saw one mention in a thread about it being ugly, but aesthetics are subjective, and I didn't really know what that tube was until I started researching, and still don't find it offensive visually. The engine bays on these cars look great compared to a vast majority of the market, except for those luxury makes that literally shrounds the whole engine bay making the hood redundant. Likewise, sound is entirely subjective as well. I find stuff like Flowmaster Outlaws abrasive, but they've got a pretty strong following here, and I don't begrudge anybody that.
Is there a performance benefit?
Does removal make the car sound better (hear the exhaust better)?
Is there a longevity problem with this setup?
Basically, why would I want to do this on my car?

Clutter in the engine compartment, elimination of a gimmick, doesn't accomplish anything if you have a loud exhaust?
No performance benefit - just a bunch of personal reasons I guess. Really up to you.
