Parking hot car in the garage
Parking hot car in the garage
Do you guys think parking your hot car in the garage has any negative effects on your car? Should you let it cool off outside prior to parking in the closed garage? Just wanted to see what y'all think…
What kind of negative effects? If your car is full of ice and road salt, parking it in a contained area and just letting it steam away might cause some corrosion issues. But that's about it I'm thinking.
A friend of mine was flying Grumman tbm's on forest fire service. One pilot got sucked into a hot spot ended upside down in the trees. The tail broke and the rudder cables pulled the rudder pedals tight and jammed his feet, couldn't get out. Fortunately the redardent load partial opened and gave him some cool but the gas in the wing tanks was boiling. They got him out and no big boom. not going to happen in the garage

The only issue I ever had is when my dumba** cat got into the garage after I got home from work and ran under my car after an hour drive home from work. I thought for sure he was going to catch fire or at least burn off all of the fur on his back. Fortunately he survived unscathed.
You're more likely to burn your house down from an electrical problem starting a car fire in your garage than the hot garage having negative affects on the car being parked in there while still hot.
Seriously though, that's the only thing that scares me. Considering I've seen somebody's vehicle catch fire just randomly in the parking lot where I work and burn to the ground, that would really stink for that to happen in my garage!
