Opinion needed - 2010 Shelby GT500

A friend has an opportunity to purchase a 2010 GT500 vert. He asked me to go look at it with him today. I know these are a bit of an "oddball" with the cast iron 5.4, but this car is incredible:

- Triple black, stripe delete
- Mileage: 5,100
- Mods: Carroll Shelby 20" wheels, full Eibach suspension, roll bar

I don't know a lot about the market for these, but I'm thinking $37k - $40k would be fair.

Thoughts?

p.s. The seller is a smoking hot single mom, so there's some value in that as well. ;)

That's just a light bar not a roll bar

It will have no structural value

I own a 2010 GT500 coupe and love it. That said...I would not buy a 2010 GT500 convertible. The chassis was beefed up substantially on the 2011+ convertibles. The 2011+ convertibles do not suffer from the cowl shake that the 2010's have. There was a reason they only put the 18" wheels on the 2010 GT500 convertibles. I believe some of the later 2010 convertibles did get some chassis upgrades as their crash test numbers improved.

Personally not a fan of that car in a convertible. You could also find a better bargain on a 2011 or possibly even a 12 depending on options/miles.

Yeah $40K seem decent... Plus you have the little chat with the single mom ;)

That's a good looking vert... price is reasonable.

Sorry guys - she was already a bit sketched out meeting two men in a parking deck. Taking a picture of her would have upped the skeazy factor....

" smoking hot single mom ".........did she buy it new & is she the first owner ?
Who did the suspension work ?
Complete documentation ?
For 37 to 40K, I'd look for an 11, which got major upgrades over the 2010 MY.

Good questions.

- yes, she is the first and only owner of the car.
- work done by a shop in Nashville, I believe. I don't have the details
- My buddy is negotiating the price right now and he is asking for the paperwork.

Good point on the 11 vs 10, but he seems locked in on it.
