No Knee Room

No Knee Room
Does anyone else have this problem?
Because of the lack of telescopic steering wheel I have to move my seat where it is comfortable to reach the wheel, but then my knees are extremely close to the dash.
Even more annoying is that the room to the right of my right leg is almost nonexistant. My knee rests on the center console and has no room to move around. When I move my foot from brake to gas and back my knee bangs the console.
I know some people have put cushion pads on the console for this, But it's not so much how hard the console is, but rather that it encroaches on my space. A pad wouldn't solve the lack of room to the right of the knee.
It's as if Ford engineers never actually sat in the driver seat and thought about ergonomics.
I'm 6'0" btw.
It's driving me crazy why does the center console have to be so **** wide. Any solution for this??

I have absolutely no solution for this but just wanted to comment. I'm 6'2" and I love how I fit in the cockpit and I kind of like how I can brace myself with my knee on the center console when I'm assaulting the go pedal on the twisty back roads of Ohio looking for Camaros.

I'm 6 feet tall, but have really long arms. I love the feel of sitting in the mustang. I daily drive a 14 tundra which is a big mothereffer so when I drive the mustang I feel like I'm piloting a fighter jet. The f-16 cockpit is really tight but comfortable.

You may find that the clutch pedal is the culprit. I'm a little under six foot but have the same issue and I believe if the clutch pedal was a little closer, I could sit further back and the problem would be solved. My next purchase is Bondurant's clutch pedal extender, which I'm hoping will be the fix. It's basically $50 for a spacer block, but it's a non-permanent mod and if it works will be well worth the cost. Others have had success with it.

I'm 5'11" and my car has the Recaros. I sit pretty close to the wheel with, so that I can press the clutch all the way in, and I still have plenty of leg room. My knees usually don't touch anything.

Its the right side of my right knee that touches the center console. It's not that my knee hits the dash in front.

I have one huge gripe about the Mustang, and it's exactly what you just described. My '13 is the same as my previous '10. My dayum right knee is in the dash when I drive. Come on Ford, how much is it to ask for a telescopic steering wheel in these cars. Hell, I'll pay for it if that's your worry.

I'm 6'6" and i find the seating position to be ok. I have the seat all the way back most of the time. I fit fine, but for performance driving scenarios i have the seat a few inches closer so my arms have a slight bend in the elbow when holding the wheel. It feels more natural. I did this in my previous Mustang too.

I'm a tall chick @ 5' 9.5" and I have no issues whatsoever. My wife is a tall swimmer type @ 5'10" or so and she sits all weird in the car, I don't get it. apparently she has short legs.
