One of the first shows I went to was with the TruFiber group last year in June... they rolled 30+ deep. Let me tell you, there's nothing cooler than rumbling through the streets and showing up at a show with 30 Mustangs.

We have had cruises to the end of Long Island to Montauk Point with over 120 Mustangs.. Talk about a great feeling..

The deletes to me finish off the already wonderful sound of the GT500's. I can't really give you a good read about drone or tinny, As my Bullitt had a Mac Pro-Chamber with SLP Loudmouths. The gt500/deletes is tame compared to that, I will never go back to an offroad pipe again.
To answer the other question, I traded the Bullitt on the 2012. I was chasing some serious electrical issues and I got stranded a few times. So I could either dump a ton of cash to fixit and supercharge it, or get the 5.0 and be ahead... I miss the look of my Bullitt, but not the problems...

I enjoy going to shows, it is a good source of ideas but I always wonder why people would enter a fairly new, bone stock GT (or insert any non-limited production car). Heck anyone can drive off the dealer lot, wash it, install a billet battery cover, then drive to a show.

I would much rather drive my car on a track than sit in the sun all day at a show.

I don't blame you for getting rid of the Bullitt for the 12. I'm sure whenever you drive your 12, you forget about your bullitt

Do you by chance have a vid of the res deletes?

The answer is very simple: Different strokes for different folks. Some folks (like me) don't find joy or solace in driving on the track. I don't find the increased chance of something breaking, parts wearing out like brakes, lines, linkages, road debris chipping off paint, etc, very comforting. I find spirited legal driving to be enough to satisfy me. To me, what's comforting is spending all day detailing her and then going to shows and admiring other people's hard work as well. Now to some people, including yourself, you might find that a waste of time. But that's ok. That's why we are individuals. What you find interesting may be a waste of time for other people. And that's alllllllll okay. The key is to respect each other's strokes.

I enjoy BOTH, track days and car shows. And my car has only a few (hard to notice) mods, compared to the heavily-modded Mustangs I park with at shows. What's interesting is this...most (if not all) of these worked-on Mustangs ever rarely see the track.

I don't have video, but in 2002, my club in Tampa in conjunction with clubs thru out Florida did a cruise down I4 to Orlando Universal studio's. We had over 200 mustangs with a Florida Highway Patrol escort. Universal has our cars parked all thru the park and gave huge discounts for attractions. Great time was had!

Lance - that is very cool, sounds like fun. Must have looked incredible.

Zto5 - have you ever considered running with the Corvette Club? Sometimes I ride with my local Porsche Club, it's fun. I'm kind of like the red-headed-step-child, but they welcome me and we have a great time - and they love my Race Red GT, sometimes I get the most attention and questions. If the Corvette guys are cool, I'm sure you could ride with them. Remember, they love their car culture - same as us Mustang guys.
*boy I hope I don't get angry posts/replies for this one!*

Yeah, my very good buddy owns a C6, and he and I go to these shows all the time. Come to think of it, he's never asked me to "run" with them during their cruises. Shows you how much love they have for ponies, and vice versa. If I go, I'll ride as passenger lol.

As far as running with the vette guy's, its a crap shoot. They are cool or a**holes, no in between. The only good thing about my 3 years in Rapid City was the local Ford club. They made it fun to hang out, when as a group. We did a few cruises and had our own Ford show every Fall.

Hey - my daily driver is a Civic!

Just kidding. I have yet to go to a show with my car. There aren't any Mustangs other than mine within 100 miles to my knowledge. I'm a little nervous about taking it to the local car club as being an American in Italy you never know how the locals with take to you.

I would bet that yours would be the most looked-at, most talked-about, most questions-asked vehicle there. I would think that they would just love it, in Italy.

Great story Z. When it comes to car shows, I've been there and done that!! When I got my car in 2006, I did shows for 3 years straight and some in 2009 before I met my fiancee (at a car show no less ) I've met some wonderful people that I can say are friends for life. And I've also met people who were nice but became different people once my life changed and I did do car shows every single weekend. They acted like doing shows is a job!! NO IT ISN'T!!! There is ALOT of jealousy at shows, along with petty whinning because their car didn't win. I'm totally done showing my car!! Won't go to another pay-to-enter show. I may go to a cruise night, but I won't take my car, My fiancee and I will go with her '69 Camaro with a 406 Stroker (don't worry, she also has a tricked out 2007 GT/CS in Grabber Orange with glitter stripes. We met at a Mustang show in 2008 ).

The atmosphere at alot of shows really turned me off. Not just the entrants who complain they don't win, but spectators, who don't learn to keep snide comments to themselves and also they don't know how to read signs that say DO NOT TOUCH!!! I've had someone actually sit in my car, when I walked away to get a bite to eat at a show. I came back and I saw someone inside it. I walked up and was just floored he was sitting it in without asking 1st. Personally, if someone wanted to sit in it, feel free, just ask me 1st. But no, this joker doesn't, he just goes for it. I call him on it, and he gets pi$$ed at me for telling him to leave my car. He thought this "car show" was like the ones where new cars are at, where everything is unlocked and open to sit in. I kindly asked him, is he making the payments? He said no, then I said GET OUT!!! He left pissed but too bad!! Learn manners jerk!!! That is one of MANY MANY car show stories I have.

Y'know, I think it's a shame Mustang and Camaro owners can't get on. We should ALL celebrate the fact there are 3 great pony cars to choose from and respect each others rides. Even if the Mustang is the best
The "pony" wars continue. As long as there are Mustangs, Camaros, and Challangers, the rivalry will continue. As long as it stays fun, it's a good thing. I'm old enought to have lived it in the late 60's and early 70's, and glad to see it is still alive today.

Jeff, your story about lack of respect from spectators is dead on. That is the main reason we never left our cars unattended...
