Mustang in body shop..rented a Camaro.
I bought my wife a mustang 2 months ago and a week later it was badly damaged hail storm. My wife and kids love the looks of a new camaro so when she dropped the mustang at the shop to get fix this week I surprised her by renting her a new camaro. She's had it for about 4 days now and everyday she asks me if I'd like to drive it to which I replied " nahh .. not really". We're going out to dinner with our daughter tonight so finally I gave in said sure. The passenger front seat is power so it literally takes about 1 minute to move the backrest forward so a passenger can get in the rear seat. The first thing I noticed when sitting in a camaro is how different seat feels compared to our mustang. The mustang seat is firm but really fits to the body it feels like its a part of you while the camaro seat feels like lawn chair that you are sitting on. The instrument panel and cluster is a joke. My parents 1976 AMC Pacer have more personality. The window openings are so narrow you can barely see out of them. I would imagine getting a large drink at a drive thru window would be a feat to the extent that you may have to turn the drinks side ways to get it through the window opening continue to spill the liquid since your precious chevrolet. The v 6 power wasn't too bad it was probably comparable to the mustangs . I think the best thing this car has going for it is the retro look of yesteryears muscle car era Camaro But don't be fooled by the looks. Looks can be deceiving. I may be biased but In my honest opinion our mustang is a far superior car to the Camaro.
So drive proud Mustang Nation..your driving a winner.

Well, that's all well and good, but the more important thing is: What does the wife say?
/everything you said about 'maros: Ditto.
//I sat in one... and got right the heck back out. Ugh, it was painful.

X2 to everything....they look pretty good from the outside but once you get on the inside its a different story. Me being 5'6" I couldnt see out of the windows and it felt like I was sitting on the floor......all in all I love my stang and wouldn't trade it for a camaro no matter how good of a deal they could give me

About six months ago, I considered buying a Z06, and the dealer let me take home a new SS for a few days while I thought about the Z.
Needless to say, I hated it. The interior is soooo plain! I really dig a nice interior, and I couldn't imagine owning that POS. It felt completely underpowered for the weight.
The only good thing I have to say about the SS is that the brakes were amazing! Other than that, it's nothing special, and I'd never be caught with one in my driveway.
Disclaimer: I'm not a GM hater at all, I have an Escalade as well. Love it!!!

Its the price you pay for the gansta look. I never thought about struggling to get a large coke through the window at the drive through let alone a bucket of chicken.

I do like the outside of them but as someone said above the interior is crappy and plain. I've heard they are suppossed to do something about that in the 2012's

The interior is worse than horrible and thats why they are changing it. I could not believe that they let it get into production the way it is. Its that bad to me. How something that bad got approved is a mystery to me. I do like the exterior somewhat but the car is too big. Its heavy and its just not my cup of tea.

The Camaro looks good from the outside, but looks like your in a cave from the inside.
Plus, I needed an auto (daily driver in city traffic) and why would anyone buy a V8 pony esk car because it has cylinder deactivation??? It contradicts itself.

I too do not like the extreme lack of visibility. I do hope that Chevy really improves whatever faults it can. Competition between Frod and Chevy is good for all of us. I would really like to like the car, but it just is not as good.
