Mt82 stuck in second gear

Was driving into town yesterday and when to take car out of car 6th and begin downshifting when I put it into neutral and let off the clutch the car stuttered and died pulled over and couldn’t get it into first was like hitting a wall but clutch was stiller there and I could take off in neutral making seem like I was stuck in second gear not sure what the issue is and haven’t had time to look into it yet but I have the Mgw shifter on it and a McLeod clutch single disc

Sounds like maybe something came loose under there

Well got to see this when I opened it friction welded itself to the shaft
