Is the line rolling?

Is there confirmation that 2011 production has started today?

DontShoot 3/22/10 07:45 AM

I was up all night trying to reconfigure the boosters on my spy satellite to get it in orbit over the Ford plant, but alas; they just don't make surplus Russian spy satellites like they used to I suppose.

I dispatched my best spy and a couple of ninjas.. but they may have been captured cause they haven’t checked in yet

Coupe66US 3/22/10 09:31 AM

Sorry, I'm on travel restrictions... As soon as the economy picks up, I'll get down there.

toolman33 3/22/10 09:48 AM

Yeah...if the line is moving... where the heck is my car already! Ha!

jeff s 3/22/10 10:02 AM

Thanks guys! :D

I didn't think my question was that silly though...

With all the uncertainty in the date I expected to at least see an anouncment or news item on this today. Figured one of the TMS Ford employees might have some inside info like they often do...

Are the plants really off-limits to the public?

I know, I'm just anxious and desparate for info, but I'm sure I'm not alone... :banghead: :grouphug:

DontShoot 3/22/10 10:06 AM

... I wasn't being silly.

Skotty 3/22/10 10:25 AM

We need to send someone on a mission.

Stinger1982 3/22/10 11:21 AM

Plant is running. Went back to work last week after their layoff.

Five Oh Brian 3/22/10 02:00 PM

I could have sworn that '11 Mustang production was delayed until April 2nd.

Coupe66US 3/22/10 02:11 PM

1. It wasn't a silly question, just needed a break in the monotany.
2. The plant is off limits to the public, however, the lot is at the intersection of two public roads, so it is possible to see new production units from the street. Be prepared to have a talk with security if you break out a camera.
3. The plant can be up and running without producing Mustangs, but I didn't think the demand was that high for the Mazda 6...

That's what I want to hear! Start building! We don't want our cars showing up just in time for winter.

Running 2011 Mustangs:dunno:

Did you ever get a production date for your car?

Stinger1982 3/22/10 04:58 PM

yes they are fully changed over (HOWEVER I do not know the status of Shelby's only V6 and GT)

No I have not yet. They are building for retail stock first and only after they get the OK to ship those stock units will they sched Retail ORDERED cars.

Interestingly, Camaro5 has a few members who work at the Camaro plant and were sharing info that they could shortly after production began ... similarly you'd think TMS would have a few members who work at the Mustang plant !!

Being a recently converted Camaro guy, I will say the Camaro boards seem to have a lot more employees on the sites, form hourly right to the top. I have not found a single person that can tell me anything about Shelby production and when the dealers will get their second round of allocations.

That poster never did verify where he got his info from. Some of his other posts said that the GT was going to have 468 HP, so I wouldn't believe him.
