Let's say I wanted to put 3.55's into a 2011 V6

My gal pal is interested in a Mustang and she wants good off-the-line acceleration. No dealers anywhere near us have a 3.31 V6 2011 Mustang. So we were thinking about the base 2.73 and just installing aftermarket stuff.

Would it void our warranty?

Could we just take this (http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com...4209-g355a.htm) to an auto-shop and have them install it? How much would it cost?

She wants to drive an auto, would that matter?

I would just have the dealer install them to avoid any BS. It would definitely be cheaper at a local speed shop, but it shouldn't void the warranty. I was actually thinking 3.73s for the V6...

So just buy that part I linked then bring it to the dealer to install? Auto transmission doesn't need to be recalibrated or something? cool.

i am curious about this too. I have 3.31s on my v6... and was wondering how much better 3.73s or 3.55s would be. Which would you go with.. and is it as simple as getting it installed after buying the parts? Will a dealer do it? And how much would you expect labor to cost? Also, do you think it is worth the upgrade or should i stick with 3.31s

Not sure if the dealer can reflash the computer to accept the 3.55/3.73s, so if not you will need a handheld tuner. That's why I suggested 3.73s. IMO, 3.55s wouldn't be worth all the trouble and she might as well get a car with 3.31s from the factory.
