I was looking at my window sticker the other day and it said 'remote start'. After 2 1/2 years I may try to see if it works. I'll have to look in the owner's manual I guess. That's how much I would use it.
I have it on my R/T too and never use that one either. I must be missing the point of this option. I have no need.

remote start is a wonderful thing up here in Massachusetts (if you store your car outside in the winter) but you probably don't need it much in NC

You are right, no need when the cars are in the garage. Thanks for pointing out the reason why it may be useful. Makes sense if the car is left outside in the cold. Let it warm up a little bit anyway. I was thinking I could scare someone at a car show that stuck their heads in the window or something.

Does Your Remote Start List as a GFA or Genuine Ford Accessory Item. I Remember We Used To get New Cars in and Would Add Them On as a Dealer Invoiced Accessory. So They Were Ordered With the Car But Did Not Get Installed Until Car got To Dealer. Just Curious!

Honestly, I was the same, barely paid attention to Remote Start until I noticed it listed. Sometimes you don’t even realize what features you have until you check the details. So lame that it's automatic only.

 

It Can Be Done And There Are Ways To Do a Little Failsafe Switch But This Has Happened More Than Once and Usually it is Done By Somebody Who is Working on Car or Washing Etc.

Yup, understand. Have a manual and would never put an auto start in it. I do have it in both of my JGCs and love it in the cold and hot months.
