Historically I've liked very few Mustang designs - for the first gens I don't mind them, but really mainly the '69-'70 cars - ones prior look a little too weenie to me. Skip a couple decades, and I love the '87-'93 (GT only), and the '94-'98. Hate the new edge, always have, and didn't like another Mustang until the '10 redesign, and am floored with the '13-'14 cars -probably the best looking Mustangs ever built IMO.
Glad I got my '14.
If I had a '15, I'd just lament each year as more features were added and once there was a midcycle facelift on the S550, I'd hate my early S550 - much like how an '05-'09 doesn't hold a candle IMO to a '10+.
You bet your *** the louvered quarter glass and automatic + PP will find their way into the S550 GTs - and when they do, the early buyers are going to whine that they got screwed for adopting early, but that's the problem with buying on the front end of a body style - MUCH better to get the end of the body style, which in most cases looks the best, has the most features, has all the bugs ironed out, and can be had the cheapest. Win all around, because personally I'll never compare my car to a Mustang from any other body style - just within its own, and IMO the '13-'14 is the cream of the crop.

To be honest, the only thing i like better about the 2015 is the interior. With regards to the exterior, i dont think it looks bad, but i dont think it has the same effect as the s197. My car turns heads all the time, and to me the 2015 already looks like its dated based on how hard they tried to make it seem overly modern. I said it before, it looks japanese and thats not my cup of tea. The retro modern look of the s197 will stay fresh for a long time.

The S197! Old school 60's looking muscle with modern technology. Doesn't get any cooler than that. The 2015 hasn't grown on me yet. Its still fugly!

I see a lot of 2015s in the Detroit area. I usually feel bad when I see a Mustang driven though the salt haze of Michigan roads in the winter. When I see a S550 covered in salt, I'm like "eh".

I saw a '15 today out in the sun, on the road, orange with black wheels... no 'wow' factor to my eyes at all, would much rather been looking upon a '14.
no doubt the 15 will be a great car, but so was the late/great GTO. all the goodies without some classic styling only goes so far...the 05-09 and 13-14 I think will always be 'classics'- sorry to the 10-12 guys, but man, i still cant get into those taillights
I do think a 12 nose and 13 tails would be optimal- but still like the 05-09 a bit more lookswise... but they all(even the 10-12 not including the rear) look like a mustang to me...
think i'm just too old, stuck in the past- but time will tell. however, anyone wanna lay odds on the 10 year desirability factor? the 55-57 chevies, 67-69 camaros, 65-70 mustangs, and a lot of other cars i think will still be 'awesome' even to those not yet born...think the 05-14 mustangs will too, but the 15? i see a mustangII or late GTO long term following. awesome performance with decent looks sell, but great looks never ever go out of style.
a couple of my totally biased favorites-

i got a 14 soon as i heard they were changing them in 15 . Theres nothing they could make that looks better than the 197 retro look.
now i need an 05 or about for a daily driver.
its too bad my brother got a 13 focus st which is great but noe will have to get a 15 or 16 mustang as he want to order it just the way he wants is . like i did. thats the way to go but the wait was hell

I still love the looks of the 99-04's. I remember when I saw the first 99 in the local Christmas of 98' parade. I was like " oh yea, the stang is back". The 94-98's were a travesty. Although due to the performance difference, I still sold my soul and got a 2001 SS.

Me too. I still think my 2000 GT holds up in terms of looks. That's why I kept her for so long.
The day I traded her in for a my '14.

I tend to agree with vidpro. The 99 to 04 and the 10 to 14 are my favorite body styles. The 05 to 09 Mustang can be made to look really great just by changing the headlamps out to a pair of Raxioms. Personally I'm just not a big fan of the 2015 car from an appearance standpoint. I just don't much care for the front end. It just doesn't quite work for me. Some cars become instant classics that will always look good and I think the 10 to 14 car and the 99 to 04 car fall into that category. Along with that are the late 80's 5.0 LX cars and the late 60's fastback cars.

Well Said.There are a few things I do like about the 15, but when comparing the total styling package 15 vs 11-14 it just is not quite there. The GT350 is getting closer. They may grow on me but I am very happy I went with the 14.
