Im glad i got a brand new s197 just in time
As some of you may have seen, i drove the s550 and made a thread. Its here somewhere, you can go ahead and read it if you happen to give a ****
I was originally skeptical and was waiting for the 2015 to be revealed as i was deciding whether to make my purchase or not. I am very glad i didnt wait and made my purchase. Dont get me wrong, i am not saying the s550 is a bad car, far from it... but its not to my taste.
I prefer the muscular look of the s197, the raw feeling it has, and its mod capability and potential for higher performance in drag racing. They just dont make em like they used to, and the s197 is really there as one of the last few muscle cars, both in styling and driving dynamics IMO.
Mod for mod, the s197 is tried and true, and will give you better results for your dollar. It also looks bad *** and not Japanese. When people see me in their rear view mirror they make way (see avatar for reference )

I made that decision as soon as I saw early pictures of the new Fustang.
I much prefer the looks of the S197 versus the S550. I'll reconsider when the GT350 is out, and when the car gets redesigned for MY17 or MY19. But for now, I'm very happy with my decision to stick with 2014. I own an American Mustang. I don't know what this new global car is.

Historically I've liked very few Mustang designs - for the first gens I don't mind them, but really mainly the '69-'70 cars - ones prior look a little too weenie to me. Skip a couple decades, and I love the '87-'93 (GT only), and the '94-'98. Hate the new edge, always have, and didn't like another Mustang until the '10 redesign, and am floored with the '13-'14 cars -probably the best looking Mustangs ever built IMO.
Glad I got my '14.
If I had a '15, I'd just lament each year as more features were added and once there was a midcycle facelift on the S550, I'd hate my early S550 - much like how an '05-'09 doesn't hold a candle IMO to a '10+.
You bet your *** the louvered quarter glass and automatic + PP will find their way into the S550 GTs - and when they do, the early buyers are going to whine that they got screwed for adopting early, but that's the problem with buying on the front end of a body style - MUCH better to get the end of the body style, which in most cases looks the best, has the most features, has all the bugs ironed out, and can be had the cheapest. Win all around, because personally I'll never compare my car to a Mustang from any other body style - just within its own, and IMO the '13-'14 is the cream of the crop.

I never warmed up to the '13/14... and was completely unimpressed with the '15 until I saw a few in person. I really, really didn't like it in any of the pictures I'd seen. To able to walk around the whole car and take in the little details made the difference. Still not a huge fan of the headlights... but the rest of the car makes up for it.
