How to search dealers inventories?

How to search dealers inventories?
I wanted to search all the dealer's inventories within 100 miles of me for a 2012 Boss but I can't seem to figure out how. The Ford site is useless as it wants my personal info, etc. Edmunds site didnt help either as the ones it found said the dealer did not participate. All I want to do is check to see what delaers have 2012 Boss' without asking for a price quote and giving away my info. It shouldn't be this hard. Help?

Yes, thats is and it is useless. You have to enter a zip code and then if the Boss option is grayed out, you have to select another dealer. You need to do this one by one. It is insane. The other option they want your info and a local dealer will contact you who doesn't have a car but wants to nag you until you buy.

Try cars.com it doesn't have all dealers inventory but has quite a lot.
You could also send a PM to the ford customer service rep on here and tell them what you want and they can generate a list.
I have noticed on cars.com there are a lot of dealers pumping the Boss's up by $10K-$15K over sticker.
Anyone that pays more than sticker is just screwing the rest who want to buy one.

Go here: www.autotrader.com. Click on "search". Check "new", enter your mile radius you want to search. Enter the car info: Ford>Mustang>V8. Enter "Boss 302" in "keywords". Click search. Your patience shall be rewarded. You can set up an account, save your search(s), and they'll email you whenever a new car is listed that meets your search criteria. I use it alot; it's great.

As a dealer, I can search on the fly for any Ford vehicle anywhere in the country. I just checked New York (146 dealers) and found just 6 Boss 302's. Only 2 of those are on the ground, while the other 4 have been built and are in transit. The 500A's are regular Boss 302's, and the 501A's are Laguna Secas. Contact info and MSRP are below....

If Ford wants so badly to just build cars for dealer stock orders and completely forget about those people who want to special order, I really do think they should invest in a system that can do that for people who are not dealers.
And any Ford reps who read these forums, you all really should value your special order customers more. Give us an automatic $750 rebate if the car is not to the dealer within 8 weeks, and an automatic $1300 rebate if it is not there in 12 weeks. Maybe then you can show us that you value the special order customers.

I found a pretty easy way to search dealers stock. Being in New Hampshire, I entered New England Ford Dealers website, put in my zipcode and get to choose all dealers in New England up tp 321 miles from me. I default Mustang search, put in 2012 and all models in stock as well as dealer ordered cars are listed. Although I can only list dealer inventory one dealership at a time, you can click through each dealer very quickly. It's pretty cool. Boss 302's are indentified only as Mustang GT's, but short of looking at the window sticker which is provided, they are easily identified by their price versus a regular GT. I would imagine other regional Ford Dealers have similar sites as NE Ford Dealers.

Go to www.dealerconnection.com. This site will allow you to search dealer inventory on a city by city or state by state basis. Yes it's not the ideal solution. It would be great to enter the car you want, push a button, and see inventory across the entire country all at once. But no personal information is needed for this site. And your patients of searching through one dealership's inventory at a time will be rewarded.

My biggest problem with the Ford one is even for one metro city (ie Denver) you have to find out and punch in 5 different zip codes. It would be cool if it listed the top 15-20 dealers, maybe.
