Hot Shift Knob
Hot Shift ****
I gotta do something about that shift ****. It's been hot here and when you first get in the car that **** is too hot to handle. Also this car is screaming for a short throw shift unit.
There was this thread started on it a while back...

Just keep a small can coozy in the cup holder. With the lid flipped closed it's hidden while you're in the car, but when you park, pull out the coozy and flip it upside down over the shift ****.
I wouldn't trade my 401A **** for anything. It gets hot, but nothing like a friend's recent-gen Mazda RX-8's ****, which is similar but BLACK. I kind of like my 401A **** - I like to imagine I am getting a 1-6 shift pattern seared into my palm on those really hot days.
Really man? I have the 401a with the Glass Roof and it's not a big problem even after sitting in the boiling hot sun, surrounded by concrete with zero shade all day long. Within a few minutes it's not that hot and even when it is I'm not giving it the "death grip" so no biggie.

I'm not sure they have the correct shift pattern for the 2011 six speed? With reverse on the left and forward.

the **** is fine to drive with if you make your gear change and get your hand off the shifter.
in normal city driving the **** becomes bearable to keep your hand on after about 5 minutes (longer on highway driving as you dont shift as often if at all)
