All you guys talking about your detectors realize that it would not have been the slightest help in this instance? The OP was stopped by an LEO who paced him from behind - no radar involved.
I too have a good detector despite the fact that I never go more than 9mph over and seldom that much. It's just a great reminder to keep an eye on my speed. Haven't had a ticket in almost 40 years.

I use an old saying that is still relevent,
"just becauae you have a fast car doesn't mean you have to drive fast"
You don't own and drive a performance car and not bend a few laws every once in awhile. The difference is you have to be more aware.
I know this is a pretty broad statement but
"If you live in the United States and drive you most likely break at least one law every day you get in a car" People in Michigan most likely triple that just on a daily commute.
