Got advanced build sheet with 2014 production numbers

Just received my deluxe build sheet from Ford for my 2014 GT. Included production numbers for 2014. Does not cover all colors but has some good info.

Dude, have you actually done the math here? Do you actually believe there were no V6 Mustangs built in 2014? If so I've got an ultra rare one of a kind 2014 V6 Mustang that I'd be willing to sell you for a boat load of cash. lol

Add all those numbers together and see if you come up with 134K vehicles.

Really? Come on. This is a build sheet for my car. A Black 2014 GT Premium Track Pack with Recaros. Not a detailed list of all mustangs. However if 134,075 total mustangs were built and 40,789 were GT Coupes or Convertibles than there were 93,286 V6s made in whatever variation they had. A deluxe build sheet for a v6 will have those details. Unless they include the Shelbys in those numbers. Than it will be less than 93,286.

Yeah Mustangfan410 got me all squared away about it on the other thread. It just didn't make sense to me to track cars in that fashion. I find it interesting that the take rate on the V6 over the GT is about 3 to 1.

I don't...I can go weeks without seeing another GT but see V6s everywhere.

Base cars are always the volume seller.

True enough. I just find it interesting because the guys over on blue oval news would regularly claim that the GT was 50 to 60% of Mustang sales figures year over year. I never believed that nonsense and they sure didn't like it when I would remind that without the V6 there would be no GT because you have to sell enough cars to warrant keeping the car in production. Not that I have anything against the GT because I had one of those as well.

At least now the V6 with the 3.7 liter is a legit sports coupe especially for the money.

That's pretty cool info....I have the exact same optioned car so that's interesting to know. Thanks for posting it.

How did you get this?? I have a Silver TP Recaro car, with Glass Roof, EP, and Backup Cam. I bet I'm 1 of less than 10...

Click on build sheets. I got the deluxe one for $46. Lists everything about the car. I only took pic of production numbers.

Rental cars are often V6's.

Nah, just about all the muscle cars I see here are v6's. Maybe 10% at most are sporting V8 engines. and many of those are older mustangs. I think I've seen one Dodge Challenger SRT. One Dodge Charger SRT (driven by someone I work with). A few Camaro's. And dear god I saw that 4 door Porsche (car) in the drive through lane at Starbucks the other day. What a hideous car. And for some reason in this area, it's impossible to find a V8 mustang with automatic. they have to be shipped in from elsewhere. (yes, I have the automatic, and love it).

So what other information is found in the letter. Or is it just the fact that it is an official document from Ford on a particular car that makes it worth the $46? The build information is available just by asking Ford Service.

skramblr 10/11/14 08:45 PM

One other thought. 134k mustangs - 41k GTs = 93k others.
Others is not all V6 - some will be GT500

Actually - here's a better breakdown on the 2011 mustangs. For 2014 the sales appear about doubled from what is shown on this PDF for 2011 sales

Stevedotmil 10/12/14 03:07 AM

Mine is
1 of 33,295 2013 GTs
1 of 28,113 coupe GTs
1 of 2,876 in Deep Impact Blue
1 of 2,789 with the 301A
1 of 1,943 with the Track Package
1 of 658 that came with the cloth Recaro seats.

My wife got the build sheet for me for Fathers Day this year and had it framed for me with a pic of me doing a huge smoke show.

mkbnavy 11/15/14 11:54 AM

Do you know if this info gets increasingly specific as you go down the list? For example, when it says there are 1762 GT coupes with Recaros, do you know if it means that of all 2014 GTs, there are 1762 with Recaro seats, or does it mean that of all the Mustang GT premium coupes in black with the Track Pack, 1762 have Recaros? I would personally be much more interested in the latter, as it will show how many cars are optioned exactly like your own. Also, I noticed it doesn't say anything about the transmission option... which leads me to believe that my build sheet would in fact NOT tell me how many Mustangs were built exactly like mine. Thanks for the clarification if you can provide it.

TheReaper 11/15/14 01:00 PM

I would like to know how many 2014 6R80 Brembo cars were built.

Varilux 11/15/14 05:19 PM

Thanks for posting!

I ordered my deluxe build sheet earlier this week. Unfortunately, while Ford lists the number of cars built with each particular option, they do not list the final "1 of xxxxx" value of cars built with ALL the options combined.

Considering I have a:
'14 GT Coupe Premium, 6MT
Glass Roof
Brick Red 401A deluxe interior
Track Package
Comfort Package
Electronics Package (with backup camera but no rear parking sensors)

I would expect to be in the 1 of 12 or so category... but the sheet will only tell me the number of people who ordered each option individually.

Still, I'm especially curious to see how many were ordered with the glass roof. Once you add the silver Boss-style stripes, I'm pretty confident there aren't any other '14 Mustangs out there exactly like mine :).

Brian's dealership had 4 other GTs just like mine, one OW, SGM, DIB and Ruby Red (sold before I picked mine up), but only mine had the all weather floormats that I ordered. There's another guy on the site that has an Ingot Silver just like mine, but he doesn't have Recaros and he has the comfort package...

Stevedotmil 11/16/14 10:46 AM

Although the transmission isn't calculated in the numbers I would think that it's pretty close.

Varilux 11/16/14 11:59 AM

It would be really cool if Ford produced a Venn diagram showing the distribution of all the options (perhaps with a little dot showing which intersection included the inquirer's car).

Yes, I'm a "stat-geek..." :)
