I noticed over the past few days that 3rd gear was starting to develop a low volume high pitched whine that would get more noticeable when you accelerate. The only way to explain the sound is like the whine of supercharger but very muffled. I did some searching online for gear whine but I was mostly getting results for differential gear whine not trans. The car only has 630 miles on it and is a 2010 GT. So my question is, what is causing this whine and is it some thing to worry about and worth taking back to the dealer for a warranty claim?

 

My 2011 is doing the exact same thing?

 

I think its pretty much normal. I would have the dealer check it out, never know if the transmission or the rear gear lube level might be low.
