Ford ESP for your new Mustang?

Anyone getting it?

I've had it for my last 2 Fords and it's well worth it, especially the premium care IF you get a good deal.

I don't want to post a plug here for another dealership/person unless people are genuinely interested but I've found he offers huge discounts over most dealers. For example, My 2006 Focus was around $600 for 6 yr/100k with $100 deductible. I received a quote for my Mustang today for $979 for the same coverage.

Given the $750 brochure coupon and the $979 warranty cost it's almost a wash. I look at the $750 as found money and the warranty as peace of mind down the road and a marketing tool if I need to sell the car later. It only costs $75 (up $25 from previous years) to transfer a Ford ESP contract to the new owner.

If this has been discussed, my apologies. The search isn't working for some reason.

I'm going with the 6 year/100k ESP for mine. $1501 extra for it, but covers everything. The 3/36 my Speed6 has sucked because I'm starting to have interior issues that might cost me an arm and a leg.

So what you're saying is I'm saving more than $500. :D SWEET!

Whats the deductible on that?

great info!

If you don't mind can you send me a PM with this dealer as I would be interested in this for my car when I order it.

Hmm, I need to look into that then. Is their a site for the Ford ESP details? It may be because of the cost of the car that mine is more. I don't know exactly.

I believe I was quoted for a PremiumCare 6/100 warranty. Was yours for the same?

Yes, 6/100 with a $100 deductible.

As I wrote, I purchased from this guy before and it was pretty seamless. All the paperwork came in as expected and the coverage was just fine. Basically he makes about $100 per warranty. Maybe more now but in 2006 that was the deal. It sounds like your dealer is going to be making way more than that.

I may compare it with another dealer and see what the cost difference may be. I have a feeling that the dealer that quoted me isn't the most trustworthy. I don't think I'll be purchasing the vehicle through them anyways.

I just did a quote using Ford's online site, $1100 for 6 years or $675 for 5 years. When I picked up my car the finance guy tried to sell me the 6 year for $1995!!!

And he wondered why I declined it.

HokieCodeMonkey 5/3/10 03:28 PM

So can you add this option from the ford site or do you need to do it through your dealer?

I tried the quote using my VIN but it said my vehicle wasn't eligible. Of course my quote from the dealer I mentioned was already cheaper than $1100 anyway so I'm still going that route.

What was the deductible on that 6 year plan and how many miles?

I will give my dealer ONE shot and ONE shot only to match this other price. If he chooses not to, fine by me. It's his money to give away.

$100 deductable, the VIN probably won't work until you actaully pick it up. I had the same issue with the Sync site.

75000 miles for Premium care, best one they had.

Wow, my guy quoted me under $1k for 6 year/100k with $100 deductible. That's 25k extra miles.

How long after you get the car can you buy the ESP?
