DON'T LAUGH! Need suggestions for RTR Charcoal wheel touch-up :(
 

After four years of deliberating, I decided that the official RTR Charcoal wheels were the right ones for my car...and the ones that will age right along side the bodystyle and still look "right" years down the road, even when the "drift" looking wheels are long gone.

Well...embarassing story: Less than 500 miles on my new wheels and tires...still really enjoying them. Had the car out on Saturday and offered to pick up supplies for my friend's birthday bash...which included 1 dozen helium balloons. Loaded the balloons into the car and couldn't see a **** thing out of the right hand side...was creeping out of my parking spot and grazed the effing curb. :doh:

Fortunately, the scrape is pretty minor...and some touch-up would likely make it invisible since it's right on a lip that catches sunlight unevenly anyway. It would be way more obvious on a spoke for example.

Any suggestions on a flat-charcoal touch-up?

Mike sorry to hear of your snaffu.

My 2 cents, just take it to any alloy wheel repair specialist. They can usually fix something like that for ~100 bucks or less. Touch up paint will cover up the scuff unevenly, and will more than likely be uneven (too low, or too high). You'll need to wetsand, clear, etc.... won't look right. Unless you're really good at painting, buffing, sanding, etc, I'd suggest doing it right and have it repaired.

I'm not laughing. I cleaned the car the other day (in-between washes with a detailer and WOWO sealant) and noticed my front right rim has a slight scratch on it. I don't even know how it happened because I never felt it and the tire rubber sticks out to protect that area. It's right at the edge of the rim. I was pissed. The scratch is so small that from even a yard away you can't notice it. But I know it's there. It'd be nice if American Racing offered the Bullitt rims that would fit over the Brembo's, but they don't. Everyone and their mother seems to hate those rims, but I think they'd look awesome in 19's, chrome, but they won't clear the front brakes.

Sigh.
