The station I bought 91 octane from...I've had problems with their gas. Went back to station I got 93 octane from and no problem with gas. My car pings when using 87 or 91. It's already been to the dealer for this and they stated it was the gas causing the issue. No, I don't fill up at 7-11 or Raceway or places like that. I use Chevron or BP as much as possible.

The difference in price is not enough to matter so I stick with what works best... my car likes the 93 octane and my wallet doesn't complain about it.

They had to be screwing you. We've had a few stations over here get busted for selling 87 as 91.

It's possible... They had a big local story on this here recently.

Fortunately, I have a VP racing fuel station in my little village, so when I get my 2013, I don't have to worry about no stinkin' ethanol.

I don't think I'll put the 101 octane stuff in though...

[QUOTE=jimmbbo;6232263]Since ethanol can be used to increase octane rating... buying "premium" fuel does not guarantee you're getting "100% gasoline"...

Out here in fly over country, the law requires the pump to be marked with what is or is not an alcohol blended fuel. The pump I use, at a Conoco station, has a label which reads "No alcohol Added. 100% pure gasoline".

The other pumps, Regular and Mid Grade, are marked with a label stating the amount of ethanol contained in the gas...such as, "Contains 10% Ethanol".

RX8 is rotary engine needs more maintenance and proper gas no compromises, which is why it's being discontinued, V is abit more forgiving on gas grade
