Desperate for answers - footwell rattle

Hey all, sorry to be that guy who just joins to post about a problem, but I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have a 2010 Mustang V6 Premium and at speeds above 50 mph I hear this rattle coming from the footwell:

It's not the tie rods (I learned that after spending several hundred getting them replaced). I also looked at the footwell from the interior and didn't see anything loose in terms of cables or other pieces.

Anyone have any idea what it is? I'd be happy to tip you via PayPal if anyone comes up with the right solution.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a heat shield under the car rattling?

Thanks for the reply - where exactly would I find the heat shield? I'm not much of a mechanic.

Underneath most cars alone sections of the exhaust system, there are metal shields between the exhaust and the underside of the car.

Pretty sure that's the same one I've had for 5 years and always thought it was something in the passenger door. Heat shield is interesting - might have to do some investigating that myself!

Second vote for a rattling heat shield. :)

Heat shield sounds like a good place to start. Does it rattle over bumps also?

Had the same thing in my 2006. Turned out to be a loose Speaker.

Could that also be a bad Strut Bracket or tie rods? Im bringing in mine this week for them.

Thanks to everyone for the responses.

It's not the speaker - seems to be coming from deeper in the footwell. And I got the tie rods replaced thinking that was the problem but that didn't solve it.

The rattle is constant at highway speeds, bumps don't affect it.

That cancels what I was thinking. Good luck, I know how bad rattles can aggravate.

Are you sure your lower front air deflector is secure and all fasteners are present?
