Computer programming question... well, a Mustang programming/software question
 

So I'm stuck in traffic today in my 2013 GT, and I'm switching between the fuel economy and gauges on my dashboard LCD screen, thinking "man, I wish I could customize this, and mix stats from a few screens."

Maybe I'm the only one to have ever thought that the canned screens we've been given (Gauge Mode, Trip A/B, Fuel Economy, Track Apps, Settings, Information) aren't enough.
For example, it'd be cool to combine the Track Apps' Accelerometer with the real time Fuel Economy readout. Or to see a few of the gauges in their meter mode at the same time.

It's not an option right now. Maybe we could make it so? Has anyone got any information on the source code for the Mustang? A kit to use for development and testing? A way to download the software to the vehicle (maybe similar to how Sync updates?)

It seems kind of crazy to me, but Ford has been helpful in providing information and programming tips on using the on board diagnostic OBD-II to send information via Arduinos to other devices. Maybe there's a way to take advantage of the existing screen in our vehicles?

Or, could I at least modify the car to tell me "Good morning!" when I start it before work? lol

Probably easiest to get a scan gauge and/or iPhone app with OBDII Bluetooth connection to monitor things. The car monitors all sensors so there would definitely be a way to get other readouts with the OEM screens but I don't know how that wod be accomplished

That would be pretty sweet, similar to the S2000's with the digital gauges that people modded.
