Cant shift past 3000 rpm
Im back 2013 mustang gt 6 speed. I cant shift past 3000 rpm. I have to wait inorder for rpms to drop past 3000 then it will let me get into gear. Is it a bad trans, clutch assembly/ pressure plate, hydraulic throwout bearing or the clutch master cylinder??? Please help just bought a new clutch. Clutch pedeal engages a half inch off floor now. Still stiff. Bit gets soft sometimes. It grinded in 3rd gear once
No leaking in the reservoir fluid is still full It has always been tough to getbit into gear but now it feels like i hit a wall when shifting past 3000 rpm |
Hi, sorry for slow reply, I was hoping someone who knows more would reply first . . . .
Try some searches on "high RPM lockout" or "shifting" and read through the threads, I think you might find the answer . . . I think you might need to remove or replace the clutch pedal helper spring, but I am not sure also sounds like the new clutch is not adjusted properly, I'd talk with the shop that installed it about that . . . it might not be fully disengaging |
Agree on the pedal adjustment or bleeding the the system. The pedal should engage towards the top.
