Boss 302 Black Wheels Scratch Remedy?
I recently purchase a 2013 Race Red Boss 302 with gloss black wheels. They look like they have been through 100 car washes. There are very fine swirl marks all over them in the clear coat. My question is what is the best way to remove, or at least get rid of most of the swirl marks? Of course the.spokes.are semi rounded so the job will probably have to be done by hand.
Thanks, Jon |
Just have it professionally repaired. Some will come to your car and do it the parking lot. Or you can buy a new wheel for around $250 from Ford Performance, if you look around :)

for a quicker and easier but probably not as good fix, why not try "scratch doctor" or any of the other similar products, widely available?

This ^^^ and then I would try a couple of coats of a good wax, that is what I had to do to my Wife's Rav4 to hide the swirls, and it will let you know when to reapply. The swirls come back.

Would you consider dipping them? A local guy did a flat black/charcoal dip on his stock Boss wheels and they looked amazing, IMO. Something about that style comes alive without the machined lip and it would temporarily solve your problem!
