Attention
As I walked out of a shop last night, a guy was checking out my car in the parking lot. He said he caught a glimpse of the tail lights, and then he saw the 5.0 badge. He seemed genuinely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about every aspect of the car. It turns out he is a mechanic with the local performance shop, and has had a half dozen Mustangs himself. Thanks in part to what I've learned from you all on this forum, we had a nice chat about potential performance mods.
No sooner did the conversation with him start to wind down, than a couple walked over wanting to check out the car, too. The new guy said, "I hope you don't mind, but the other day I saw your car parked on ___ street [at my work] and I had to stop and take some pictures of it with my cell phone. See, here they are." Well ... as long as you're not trying to sell it on eBay or report me for traffic violations, I guess that's OK... His lady was more reserved, but I think she might have been even more seriously interested in it than he was. Both guys told me they already knew that mine is the only 2011 GT Premium in the county, because they had gone to the local Ford dealership to ask. They also gave me their addresses and invited me to stop by their homes to admire their Mustangs (it's a small-town community). :):):) |
haha great story

Got to love the amount of people you meet just from your car. That's happened to me a few times already as well. Plus the salesman I didn't buy from and went to a different dealership stopped me at a gas station to ask me where I got it.

Nice...I wish more communities were like this nowadays...

A few weeks ago I was in Huntington Beach and was surprised how many people came up to ask me about my car. For those of you who don't know Huntington is a very wealthy area. Mercedes, BMW's, Porsche's are common as hell. Seeing a Ferrari or Lambo certainly isn't unusual, so it was odd when a guy in a cross walk had to come up to my window and tell me how awesome my car was.
People are very happy about the return of the 5.0. Especially one with 400+ ponies. |
Gotta love small towns. I grew up in Rural Wisconsin. Everyone knew everybody. Now I live in Las Vegas and people live literally 4 feet from eachother. Nobody talks to anybody around here. Everyone's a stranger.

Yeah these cars really stand out. I was parking at the grocery store the other day and some guy just walked up to my car and just started asking questions. I showed him the glass roof and he loved it.

I've had mine now for 16 months and people still compliment it and come up and ask about it. And it doesn't even have a 5.0 badge! ;)

Wow, 16 months!? I didn't know they have been available for 16 months. When did these puppies hit the street???
I believe he's referring to his 2010 :heh: |
Cool story. I've actually been surprised at the level of attention these cars attract, given how it's a fairly common car ( at least around here). I get almost as many people coming up to me at gas stations, parking lots, lights, wherever, just to talk about the car as I did with my 370Z.
