Is anyone running 275/40/19's front tires....
with a 1" drop and not having any rub issues ! I'm at a lost right now, just installed the new FRPP wheels with 285/40/19's back and 255/45/19's front and the result is a total disaster, the car sits much lower at the front . This is not what i was expecting with almost same size diameter wheels ....i guess the 45's sidewall height makes for a big difference in the way the wheel fills the wheelwell. I'm so pizzed......

Have you measured the actually sidewall height on each on the car?
Is there a difference?
If they are both the same diameter, shouldn't they both be the same height?
Is it the suspension or an illusion?

I'll have pics up in a few minutes, but from what i'm reading throught this internet site, the height for the 285 is 4.48 in. and the 255 is 4.51 in. What i had before with the RTR wheels was 275/40/19's and 255/40/19's with respective sidewall heights of : 4.33 in. and 4.01 in. the car had a perfect look with that set up, thing is i wanted to go wider in the back, that's why i choose the 285's.

I'm thinking i should've gone with 275/40/19's which has a little bit less sidewall height ( 4.33 in. vs 4.51 in). Will have to check this out with my dealership on Monday, this is so annoying having to bring back the tires and get new ones installed and making sure the look will be what i'm looking for.

The car come with a raked stance from the factory and that's what you are seeing. Most after market springs that have a drop for the most part have a mix matched ride height that evens out the stance of vehicle.
BTW, wheels are looking good

Sidewalls make a difference and also the mustang has a natural rake, if you have not set it with springs, so if you got a 1 inch drop on all four corners the rear would still naturally be here that's just what I think. no expert.

Those wheels look really good. Got any more pics of the whole car with the wheels? Also, if you don't mind me asking where you got them from the dealer or wheel store.

Just got the wheels on today, so for now these are the only pics i have, and since i don't like the stance, more appropriate pics will have to wait till i make some tire changes.

I know thus the reason I said plenty of room left. Yours would be 1" taller than mine. You can see how much clearance I have here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/jsnyng/...7625431186416/ and see you should be fine.

I'm running 275's all around. They're 9.5" wide wheels. I mounted some 285/35's on 10" wheels with no rubbing up front. The 285's on 10" wide wheels will be my autocross setup.

As stated above, i wanted to go wider in the back. So i did a fit check with the RTR wheels and the result is much better. The car sits much more leveled and will probably go with the 275/40/19's for the front. Hopefully the people which i got my tires from will want to take them back in exchange for the wider ones ! Will probably be charged some restocking fees, but that's better than to sell them myself. Will see about that tomorrow.

Did you try with the front RTR 255/40-19 ? Or will that 1/2" sidewall drop lower it to much?
With RTR you had a sidewall diff of (4.33-4.01)= 0.3" and you were pleased with that, it sounds like.
And with the FRPP wheels you have a sidewall diff of (4.48-4.51)= -0.03"
So diff between these setups are 0.33". Is that what made the unexpected lower front?
The Steeda Sport springs might have helped you, with 1" drop front and 1.25" back. But since you have your older tires that seems like a better solution.
It would have been nice to see a whole side car photo, taken from a low angle. Gives a better feeling of how the stance is.
Hope you get it the way you aimed for.

As far as taking a side shot of the car's stance, little problemo right now as my driveway has about 10 inches of snow waiting to be shoveled. yeah right, it's that time of the year here, where's all that snow coming from so soon this year, this is crazy, must be this global warming thing again. Oh well.
