Anyone have these issues?
I have 2 different issues so I'm looking for some answers or someone that can help me locate the problem...... When I'm driving around I can hear a squeak from the rear end and I think it's coming from the right end tire. While I'm driving I have to pop it in neutral to be able to hear it more but can't pin point from what side it's coming from.... I was thinking of taking it to the dealership so they could take it in for service, but I'm afraid for them to damage something else ( last time I took it in they scratched my car).
The other issue is when I'm driving into bumps, the front suspension makes a clunking noise. I've search that problem and it looks like there's a tsb for the 2011-2013, but what about the 2014? Has anyone found a "fix" for this? The dealership changes the front lower control arms and the noise goes away for a couple a weeks, then comes back when your going into bumps. |
Rear End squeak likely needs a bushing greased. Have them also check for a bent axle.
|
My rear axle was replaced at 400 miles. The rear end squeaked at speeds up to 25mph. Just about to hit 3000 miles now and no squeaks since.

I've got what sounds like a bushing squeak from the left rear of the car. I had a friend bounce it up and down while it was parked but was unable to replicate the sound. I'm assuming it's a control arm bushing that only makes noise when it's under load while driving.
I also have a clunk in the front end, passenger side, while going over bumps. I have yet to go to the dealer, especially since I've replaced my springs/shocks/struts. |

Need more info on the car. Are you stock? Or modded? I'm guessing you have some mods. Fill us in for the proper diagnosis.

I'm completely stock other than having flowmaster outlaws, I currently have 2k miles on the car so I don't want to mod my car yet.
I can't speak to the front and clunking sound... Are you positive that it's from the front? Info recall reading a tsb for that though. You might have to go to your dealer...unfortunately. As for the 2000 mile modding, I was modding at 56 miles... FYI. :) |
Zto5,
Good call on the exhaust rubbing. I'll check mine out this week, it makes sense. Thanks for the tip. |

What am I supposed to notice?

^ What fluid? I must be missing that. I bet he's referring to the rust. That's pretty normal too for that type of steel, even when quite new.
|
Look at the right side of the spring perch and the axle tube below it. It's not as rusty as the rest of it because it's coated in fluid.

Same issue
Just bought my wife a brand new 2014 GT. Same issue. I just bought this car last week, not even 100 miles on the GT and already squeaking front end on every bump or speed hump. Annoying as hell and very disappointed!!! Hoping Spikes ford will take care of this issue!!!

Must be a 2014 thing....:)

FYI on the diff fluid "leak". There is a TSB for this and its apparently normal for it to leak out of the vent. Beware of taking it in to the dealer if they don't find a problem, they may charge you for inspecting it. Renner Ford in Columbus Indiana did this to me. They tried to charge me for putting the vehicle on a lift and inspecting it because the oil leak was normal and there was no problem found. I had to b--- up a storm and talk to the service manager for them to not charge me. Hopefully you won't run into that problem, Renner Ford is widely known as a terrible place in southern Indiana.
