anyone else keep track of expenses on their cars?

Oh yeah. I keep a multi-tab spreadsheet with mod expenses, service history, and maintenance records, as well as a folder with all of the receipts/invoices pertaining to the car. I also have a mileage tracker app on my Evo.

I keep track in quicken on how much I spent in various catagories such as fuel, service, mod, tolls, etc. I also have a book of receipts that has all the mods I have done. When I get back to the states I'll see about putting that on my insurance. Should the car get totaled maybe I can recoup some of that.

For any repairs, oil changes, etc... I keep a copy of the receipt and log it in an excel spreadsheet. I scan in the receipts/invoices and put them in a folder with the excel file. Then when you click on the date of service in the excel file, it will pull the receipt up.
Gas receipts I don't keep. I do track how much my GF and I spend on gas, but I don't break it down per car.

I keep all receipts and I maintain a spreadsheet that unfortunately calculates the total of the prices for me.
It's hard to see how much we actually spend on these cars, but hey, you don't take it with you!

I keep track of it all here:

and here:
http://mygtcs.com/mustang/tracking.asp
The costs are all there, they're just hidden from the public...

Count me in, I have kept two binders since I bought my car. Both with clear plastic page protectors, the first with all the invoices (NEVER SHARED THIS ONE WITH THE BRIDE, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) and the second with all the modifications to my car. Binder has tab divider sections for: Engine, Suspension, Driveline, Exterior, Interior and Wheels, Tires & Brakes. Front of page protector has a Description of the mod, the Part Number, Manufacture/Vendor, Date Installed and a Picture of the part (either on or off the car). On the back side of each page protector is the install instructions for that part.
