the mirror is plug and play in that the same rear view mirror with sync and LCD is the same in the mustang as in other ford vehicles. however, the standard mirror uses a 10 pin connector where the new mirror uses a 12 pin connector. if you are lucky and buy one take off, they might give you the connector and you can splice in, or otherwise you have to make a "jumper" between the original 10 pin to the new 12 pin, which is what I did. I did that in case I wanted to go back to stock at a later date.

I notice a few mirrors on eBay. THere is a 2009/2010 F150 mirror that says 16 pin connector. What year F150 had the 12 pin connector?

sorry, yes it is a 16 pin connector because 4 pins aren't used. I'm going off memory here. I did this in the early part of the summer. so you would go from a 10 pin to a 16 pin.

I don't recall what the ford part number is on the mirror. If you have sync you want to make sure the F150 mirror has the mics on it.
