Accurate RTR stripe kit--- anything available?

I'm interested in applying the side stripes from the RTR kit... does anyone make a kit that accurately replicates the real RTR cars?

I have seen a few cars out there with custom stripes and they look good but they're usually a bit off...too wide, etc.

Any info would be appreciated!!

In the meantime, I sent a note to RTR to ask about this since they don't seem to offer the vinyl on their web site. I will keep everyone posted.

Well, here's the respose:

"...We do not offer our gra‎phics kits separate. The only way to get them is with the full RTR Spec 1 or Spec 2 kits. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will be happy to help!

Thank you"
...

It was worth a try.

Yeah, I think they forced AM to remove the "RTR style" hood graphic they were selling. A local sign/vinyl shop could match it pretty closely, though.

Thanks, Irv.
I just sent a note to Bob...

There's something about that very subtle blue on blue stripe that I just dig.

Bob got back to me very quickly! He seems like a good guy to work with...

Unfortunately, he can't do it...sounds like there are proprietary design concerns which is understandable.

Anyone who is looking around, check out www.bobwhitedecals.com.

I just got another note that Bob is willing to extend a 10% discount to forum members.

If you guys were thinking about stripes, now might be a good chance.

You could always grab some pinstriping tape, mask off the stripe area, and plastidip it.

Or, you could take a picture to a good pinstriping shop/body shop and have them paint them on?

Interesting idea with the Plastidip! That might be a fun weekend project...

I'm definitely not up for painting them on...I suspect that a few years down the road, I'll regret it and want them off.

Lol there ya go then. Grab a couple cans of the bright blue that they offer, some of the thin green pinstripe tape, mask if off and go at it!

I put these on recently. Bought off ebay. I think they look closest to the original RTR stripes. you can get them in different colors too;
search ebay for "2010 2011 2012 Mustang GT Custom Vinyl Stripe Kit"

If you want the RTR shape/design you could try knifeless vinyl tape.

I'm going to be soon. I came across it when I was buying the vinyl for my P-51 graphics. I'm going to try it myself pretty soon! I'll let you know how it goes...
