Figured i would show off his driving skills since he is a member of our family. This is a well know race track just north of Montreal ( about 60 miles) which i've been to a few times to attend races, but never got the chance to ty it out .
His name is Martin, i actually don't know the guy personnally, but he live just around the corner from me.
It gets very interesting at around 6 minutes in the video, when he starts passing BMW's, Porsche's, Viper's, a Corvette, 370 Z, G35, Miata, Lotus Elise,Mini's, ( ).
Way to go Mart.

I love the way that 5-oh sounds. It looked like he needs to move to a faster run group though. Was everyone else there on parade laps?? Some of the Youtube comments are funny though.

I just heard tire squeal. And he was actually very easy on the brakes compared to cornering. Maybe the car doesn't have brake ducts and that's why he's letting off the gas well before the turns so they don't have to work so hard.

There was brake squeal from one of the Hondas in front of him about 2/3rds through. There is a little from his own, apparently racing pads according to comments, you have to pump up the volume some to hear it. I just love how it looks like everything else on the track is just getting in his way, especially on twisties.

Brings back fond memories as I was there once many years ago. Sweet track.
He has a nice line, hard to see sometimes because of mirror blocking view.
I am surprised that he doesn't double clutch going down or using heel toe on his entry. I think he will find his transition to be a lot smoother if he adopts those driving techniques, plus it does help the trans live longer.
Also curious if he is using left foot braking?
Nice job!

Dan,
I just discovered you had posted my video from last summer
To answer some of the questions:
- The car was stock back then with only R-compound tires
- Yes, that is the mic on the dash; too much wind noise from the camera's interal mic since it is located in the rear
- Believe it or not, THIS was the fastest run group. It wasn't well balanced but I did run into some fast drivers (not in this video)
- The brakes squeal because they are race pads. The same pads that lasted 10 track days on my 2005 GT lasted 2 on my 2011 GT. I have upgraded to Brembos this year !
- No left foot braking but in some curves because I come in so fast, I'm not yet 100% confident in my Heel-Toe.
I'm looking forward to this summer with the car having Brembos, Koni Sports, SS lines, CAI, Steeda Sport Springs, Hotchkis double-adjustable sway bars and -2deg camber in front.
The stock 2011 suspension was too floaty to my taste compared to my 2005 GT that had similar set-up than my 2011 will have this year.
Should be a fun summer
